Does anyone else dislike the Chrome edging around the windows?

I really don't like the chrome edging around the windows. My brother recently ordered a Black 335i, and it also has this chrome edging. Does anyone know if you can get the edging deleted from the factory?

I'm not a big fan... but it's by no means a deal breaker.

Is there any way to delete it from the factory?

The profile picture of the 135i coupe on the UK BMW website shows it without the chrome edging. Does anyone think this will be available here? (you have to go to the third picture in the link below)

I prefer the Shadowline trim instead of chrome. I thought I noticed in some specs somewhere that the 135's destined for NA would be equiped that way, sorta fitting into the "M" look. I'll see if I can find a link...

I prefer the chrome. I'm not a chrome fan in general, but I think it adds a touch of class in the case of window trim.

The Shadowline trim is included as part of the M Sport package, which is standard for UK bound 135i's. Will it be included with NA 135i's? TBD. :iono:

I prefer the shadowline trim. I'm not a fan of chrome. My girlfriend likes the chrome trim, but she wont be driving it so her opinion doesn't matter, haha.

Minus the chrome. The Shadowline gives it the M look.

I personally like the chrome. I have a black VW GLI with the chrome trim; it was deleted from the 2007 or 2008 model year (as were the sweet blue tint windows, unfortunately). I think the chrome trim adds an element of class, and looks really nice set off against the black.

On a BMW, the Hofmeister Kink is more apparent when the chrome trim is there to emphasize the line.

All in all, I'd prefer the chrome. To the poster above who said the 128 won't have it; do we know this for certain yet?

all depends on the color....
and what else you have going on.

I was looking at the E90 post - I like the color matched grill surrounds instead of chrome there....

+1... It might be a copout, a sign of indecisiveness, or just old age but I agree that it depends.

Shadowline looks great on black! Probably not so great on white.
