Yes. Had a full to the brim tank before going to the track. Reset mile counter before sessions began, and I had done 79 miles by the end of the day. Filled it up at the station, 14.3 gallons. 79/14.3 is 5.52 mpg =)

Not gonna do that again though...

How did you manage to fill up 14 gallons? even with couple miles to empty I never got over 13gallons. I believe the most I have filled up was something like 12.7. But I agree when I went to track I got around 100 miles out of tank. About 40 miles driven outside track

Yeah, I just sat in traffic going nowhere for five minutes when I was out at lunch. ZERO MPG!

Doesn't the tank "officially" hold 14.1 gals?

but between the gasoline in the lines going to the engine and the line from the filler cap an extra .2 gallons is concievable.

I'm usually a fuel misser...but the last time I came home from jersey I made the sad mistake of taking the belt. Didn't move more that 2-3 MPH for 2 hours. Burned half a tank sitting in traffic. So thats like 1 gallon to the mile.

I've been able to fill over the "official capacity" before. I think it's somewhere around 14.3 or 14.4 to the top.

Ouch. Nothing good ever happens in Jersey.

I'm think the car's computer is unable to calculate mpg correctly if the mpg number is <6mpg. Just like if you are coasting, it'll show 99.9mpg.

I have never see a number smaller than 6mpg. I've done hard launches (w/o much wheel spin) I see 6mpg, I've done slower launches, I see 6mpg. I've also try a rolling start in 2nd, then flooring the gas, I see 6mpg. But if, lets say, you're doing a burn out, where you aren't moving an inch, but flooring the gas, what mpg should you get? I haven't tried that yet...

If you can hear the fuel injectors whining, you might be getting poor gas mileage... LOL

Your tires will be spinning, so as far as the car knows, you're moving...probably in second gear, at up to 60 mph, so you'd be burning alot of fuel.

I've gotten 14.5 for a tank.
