Disco thanks for the pics, it helps a lot.

I think they look very good on the VO. I'll probably end up getting them for my AW 1M after a bit of running on stock sides.

So, both the side markers and the grills just snap in?

Also, any update on the CF version?

Just put one of mine in today. Took a lot longer than I anticipated. It takes quite a bit of grip strength and patience to get them out and then back in. I actually had to strip off the paint layer on the tabs for them to fit back in.

Got one side in though, with no damage. (Tabs, plastic, wiring, etc) Just need to do the other.

Hey Silvs I just got my side gills, any chance you could share some tips on how to get them out/put them in? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks

I think there are a few posts on how to do it. On your new ones, you should see 4 tabs on top, and 4 on the bottom. Those are essentially what hold the indicator in. Then there is a lip on the very leading front edge.

What you want to do is start near the rear, and compress the tabs, pulling out. The back end will start to come free a bit. Then need to start working on the tabs closer to the front. The piece will then slip back and out.

There is a wire connection held in place by a small clip. Using something small, gently pull the clip up while trying to remove the connection. You don't have to move the clip much to free it. It seems like it is easy to break, be careful.

Reverse the process to get them back in.

Guys, I found it hard to squeeze the sides (without worrying about busting them) so I came up with another method. I used 5 popsicle sticks and wedged them in between the tabs (look at your replacements to see where to put popsicle sticks in between) starting with the upper forward and then working towards the rear .... that creates space and then you should be able to easily squeeze/lever the popsicle stick and release the tabs for removal.

Good luck ....

Curious if anyone else has had this. I only did one side (see above) last night.

Today I noticed that the indicator does not sit 100% flush with the side. It's just spaced enough that I can get a finger nail between the indicator and the panel.

I did check the other side, and it seemed to also have the same issue. A very small gap.

Does anyone have a similar issue that they are aware of? Anyone know if I should be concerned about water or something? I can't imagine those are 100% water proof stock.

Isn't there a seal between the indicator and the wing?

I got a set of these, 1 in matte and 1 in gloss. Quality is great!

If in doubt, order the matte IMO, though both version look amazing, but especially if you are planning to do dark rims in matte, it's makes for a better pairing (though the gloss matches perfectly the door trim and BMW Performance grills, so a bit if a tossup what you care more about).

Now if only I can get my car! LOL
