We have touched down in Geneva and took a stroll around the booths. The official press annoucements from BMW aren't until tommorow, but we did manage to get some photos of a beautiful 1M in Alpine White minding its own business. The car is still 'semi' wrapped up, with a clear plastic protective wrap over the roundel, the front grills and the wheels.

What I can tell you about Alpine White compared to the Vallencia Orange that BMW has been showing off at other major autoshows is that this color really is alot more subdued in person. Subdued in a good or bad way depending on your outlook. The color is alot more manageable for a daily driver and simply won't get the same instant attention as the VO. This highlights the fact that VO is truly a special color with a unique metallic characteristic that stands out.

On the flip side, the AW color itself really helps to accentuate the widebody lines. To those who were worried about AW hiding the M details, I have to say in person it actually brings those features out very nicely. The M front fender really stands out as well. The overall impression I'm left with when looking at the car is of a really clean and tight car.

For a daily driver, AW seems to be the perfect color. People who've purchase AW 1Ms, you seriously will not be disappointed!

I would make rims darker and the headlight washing nozzles flush.

^Seriously, why does BSM seem like the red headed step child here? With all the car shows going on you'd think they'd have at least one BSM variant out there. I wonder if BMW considers these two colors in the end to just show better than BSM?

I've had both white and black cars before, both have their pros & cons. One thing I'll never forget is just how freaking hot black cars get here in The Oven (Texas).

Because it looks terrible with the white eyebrows. The VO looks bad too, IMHO. The new eyebrows should be body colored, not white.

That display almost looks like it was meant for a V/O 1M and not a AW one.

What is that wrap on the wheels and top of the grill? Odd.
I plan on putting a light smoke of lamin-x on my headlights so the eye brows get toned down.

Oh no... I was hoping to see VO in person. I'll be in Geneva on thursday at a BMW event at the evening. Well okay, AW is fine for me, too, of course. But I was looking forward to see that special VO there.

However, still have no clue about the color, but I have to decide until friday... and it's still tied actually... VO 33%, BSM 33%, AW 33%...

@ Croatian Test Driver:

Scott27 over at GCF said in the March Update thread in his channel that the 1M was going to be there in all it's VO glory!

Worth a look. Sorry but I can't link.

When I had my black e90 I felt like I had to clean it twice a day to keep to my standard of pristine. Living in the oven does influence paint color too.

@Scott, will they show one in AW and VO? That would be great!

Otherwise I will go nuts. I was really planning to veryify my primary color choice at Geneva and that is VO *argh*

Doesn't sound like they'll be side-by-side but it seems like you should find out how to become a "special" client.

Hmm, I'm going to be at a special BMW event at thursday evening (only for business and diplomate clients). So, there's maybe a chance to see both.

Looks like I should take my 1M contract with me.
Hmmm...I hope this helps.
