The first thing I would think of is like Subaru WRX gold, I think that would contrast fantastically with your DSB 135i, but that's a bit shouty for a bimmer.
My dad stripped the paint off of the style 19's on his E39 540i, and then sealed/clear-coated them. They looked brilliant with Orient Blue. That would also look pretty good with your car.
Good luck at the AutoX.

I was kinda wanting something obnoxious, just because these won't be my daily wheels and it would be fun to have something different. I was thinking about gold too, or orange, copper, red? Maybe I should get some better side pictures and try to photoshop the different options. Thanks!

Did an oil change and inspected the drive shaft. Been having the driveshaft area wub-wub-wub noise for a while now and can't tell what's wrong from just looking. Took a lot of unscrewing to view it. This is a much more difficult job than I thought it'd be. I have to drop the exhaust, take off some different cross members, and who knows what else. Ugh. Thought it was going to be a simple job. Nooooope.

Going to hardwire my radar detector sooner than later too.

Walnut blasting done today. Mechanic called and took pictures, oil residue on the intake and some leading to the valves. So I just purchased the Mishimoto Catch-Can. Kinda expensive but I don't want anything worst to happen. I think my PCV valve is causing issues. So catch-can for now until down the road, I'll replace the valve cover all together.

I would do burnt orange but I'm biased because that would make it an Auburn car.

Installed F30 335i Grey Brembos, bled and filled 'er up with Motul SRF-600. Also installed some YUGE Stoptech Sport Slotted brake rotors. When I say, YUGE, I mean, they're just gigantic! This is not a weight-saving mod, at least not with these rotors!
I think I'm done with mods for a long while... now it's time to do some preventative stuff to keep the car going strong, coolant flush before the winter freeze, oil catch can, fix the radio display's dead pixels, find that noise I've been forced to constantly listen to and fix it, rebuild my parking brake, etc. You know, little things...

Was so hot and sunny I took it to a spray-n-wash place instead of washing 'er in my fully exposed driveway in the heat of the day.

Just as I started spraying, another DSB 135i 'vert shown up next to me!
Thought it was a 128 due to 17" wheels, and the dust is so thick it looked like a different shade of blue. But once cleaned, the're twins! Except his has no mods yet...
Nice guy. Only owned it for 3 months so far. Sounds like changes are planned.

Once I got home I pulled into the garage, let her cool down a bit, and sprayed and wiped with Meguiar's quick detail then Optimum spray wax to dry, shine, and protect. No water spots.

DME flashed yesterday and wrapped the dash trim to brushed black aluminum. Gotta do the console and door handles later.

Installed the longer Redline leather shift boot to go with my SSK lever:

This is the new Neutral.
2, 4 and 6 are just barely behind it.

Blackline tail lights bought and installed by a local for $250. Crazy how much of a difference such a small detail makes!

I posted the only good bit of video I got from Full Auto with NASA at Summit Point back in September. Notice how floaty the car was with blown shocks! I know, this isn't something I did for my 1'er...

I DID install 10mm wheel spacers out back, and discovered that some of my studs were coming loose ! I re-torqued them to spec (25 ft-lbs), and cleaned up my rotor hats. I also pulled the front driver's wheel off because my brake pad wear sensor was triggered...discovered that the wire was rubbing with the wheel, and the wire got eaten through. I ended up stripping it of insulation, cutting the wires super short, and creating a loop plug out of it. I also checked the studs up front, and the same story, some were not quite torqued, while a rare few were finger-tight. Fixed that little red wagon...

I'm looking forward to the Fall Finale with NASA, again at Summit Point, and then being able to reduce the damping on my Koni's, they make the car ride a bit racey at the moment. I plan on removing the rear seat for the track day (I really want to keep up with Miatas ). The Ultimate Driving Machine is very nearly The Ultimate Driving Machine

No airbag available at the time of my appointment.
Got seeping oil condition checked out.
$2100 for oil pan gasket replacement?!?

Due to recent oil filter O-Ring implosion I'm gonna clean it up, then watch and wait another month to see how bad it really is.
But sounds reasonably bad.

Not particularly surprised with that estimate. It's not tough work but it is time consuming. I saw how much stuff is in the way to get to the oil pan. It's not fun. Even more so for an E88.

That's what they tell me.
Gonna see how much it is at the performance shop. But they're farther away and don't offer loaners.

I just picked up my 128 from having a new oil pan and gasket put on at an independent shop. I ordered the pan from the internet for about $500 delivered and they charged 4.5 hours of labor. In total it ended up costing around $1100.
