Red face BMW CCA Discount..I screwed up!

I've been an active "Official" member in the BMW CCA since the late 90's (Member ID# is 320625). A low member registration number. Anyways..

I recently got married, moved and lost my registration envelope and basically forgot about my membership, which expired July 31. My wife and I are both due to be purchasing new cars this upcoming year 2013. Since my membership lapsed...I have just lost the $500 CCA rebate on new 1 series cars X2.

What a KILLER.

Maybe I can call the national office, obviously re-acquiring my membership as well tomorrow morning.
I did tour the home office with my dad, who is a senior officer & president of BMW CCA Pocono mtn chapter this past November when he picked up his 11' 1M coupe @ the performance center. The CCA home office is only a few miles from BMW CCA's national home office in Greenville, SC. Needless to say I had some converations with staff in the office that day talking about E30's, E36's & I had to throw in some talk about the 1 series! lol

I hope to talk to the membership people and see if I can still be eligible since I've been a long time member... who forgot to renew his membership! It would be cool if the membership sales guy I was talking with remembers me..as I talked with him the most about his E36 318ti club sport... We'll see. Hopefully they take care of me. It would tremendously help me out...and get me into a new E88 at a great time here in Northeastern PA (summer 13').

SIDE NOTE: If I play my cards right I can upgrade to a 13' 135i convertible get the $500 CCA rebate and the $750 Loyalty discount...and get it ordered in March 13 for May productio! My lease is up in July but my salesman told me the dealership would pay off the last 2 months of my lease if I order in march 13'. My family has purchased 4 1 series cars from him in the last 2 years lol. I'll take what I can get..but I will not be dissapointed in any E88 model. I would even keep my 11' 128i as a lease buyout if the price was right....but the 135i would be the best option.

Been a CCA member for 13 years. I'm sure they'll take care of you.

Sadly, the rebate doesn't come from the CCA but from BMW NA and they have a no tolerance policy toward membership lapses and the rebate. Been through this a few times with chapter members / National and always came up with sorry, no rebate. The CCA is on our side but they can do nothing.

I realized that I was screwed. I got my membership renewed 2 days ago.

Does anone Know if I could purchase my new car in July and then use/apply/request the rebate in September??

My wife is getting her X1 in September 13'. She's OK. I'm the screwed one!

If I have to I will wait untill September to Order my E88 1 series. - I guess.

They will be looking at the purchase date, not when you apply for the rebate.

I got screwed twice by CCA. On the car prior to the 1 I had let my membership lapse by a month or so. Wouldn't you know it I go out and by a car and CCA says I've not been a member long enough. Never mind that I had been a member since the late 70's and missed a stupid renewal.

Then I go and buy a 1 series when they first come out in 2008 and CCA says no deal on the 1.

So. Even though I like the BMWCCA very much this part really chaps my shorts.

I'll have to wait it out for September now!

I guess I'll extend the lease on my current E88 now for 2 months...or 1 month. Whatever they let me do.

Otherwise I'm driving my pristine 1988 325i sedan as a daily driver for 2 months .

*I've never weighed out buying out my 2011 128i vert (17k miles)
However I never negotiated a buy-out deal...so it's unlikley.
The car is no sport model but is tastefully done up. I spent a year planning out the car's order. Blue Water/ALL grey tone interior/Grey Poplar wood/Moonlight metallic top/loaded options/ & the classic silver exterior window trims (reason why I didn't get the sport pkg). silver exterior trim just looks best on this color-combination configured car.

SO it's a strong desire to hold on to the car...but to others it's just a classy 128i convertible. I proudly parked it next to my dad's VO 1M @ a BMW CCA concours. My car looked pristine as always.

--Enter Rant-- Our local club: most CCA meetings with the E82 135i guys...they basically avoid any contact with me haha. All the younger car guys care about is the 135i n nothing less.
My thoughts on this: I'm a car guy too..and young..but I'm more of a concours/detailing guy. I like classy looking bmws. I know how to not mess-up an elegant car too...I'm 2 for 2 so far.

If the buyout is a rip off...Then obviously I'm giving the dealership the cleanest, nicest E88 128i vert to sell CPO to someone.

What would I do then?? Hope to ORDER one before production ends! I'd probably have to order it during the end of July...to get it for Late September.

BMW NA has yet to release the E82/E88 Production end date information to the public...I think. However the "future" section on bimmerpost states that production ends in July.

If that's the case I need a car...so I'm stuck using my "loyalty" discount and NO CCA discount....I'm hoping to step up to a Blue Water 135iS convertible...Monlight soft top with Taupe Only current color that's available and looks good. It's the only ALL one-tone interior color.

With a light blue car anything black anywhere (or black excess) looks bad in my opinion...thats why blue water with all grey tone interior looks in my eyes. The best look.
The 135iS black mirror caps will have to be swapped out for body color. Maybe I can get mad at my salesman and have him beg the guys in Lepzig to just put body color matched mirrors on my car @ the plant. Only in a perfect world would that happen tho!!!

I think the 135iS vert would be a great car to obtain. I will leave it stock (basically). It will be babied just like my current 1 series car.

END of terribly long rant.
