Original 12 ownership
I was curious and thought I would ask the question. Do any of the Original 12 still own there 1M's?
I must say I am a bit surprised to see the number of original 1M owners who have sold their cars. I know that at least one of the Original 12 still owns his car. Any others?

The US participants were not given special treatment to purchase the 1M.

Only one among the original 12 lucky testers who bought the car AND also posted in this Forum is M3Adjuster from Texas, US but there might be one or two others from other countries who are not active in this Forum. M3Adjuster should have a better idea on this one.

M3Adjuster is the only one that I know of who actually bought the 1M and still owns it.

Great! Other than the jacket did you guys receive anything else from BMW on your fabulous trip to Leipzig?
Do you still love your car as much today as when you bought it? You original 12 are a lucky bunch.

Some forum fellows win an "Original 12" (actually "The Lucky Dozen") ticket for the 1M Pre-Drive Event (November 2010):
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452079 Euro Delivery report of M3 Adjuster (one of the "Original 12"): http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showpost.php?p=10397037 "To date [Sept 11, 2011]... I am the only one of the original 12 that has opted for the car, a fact that is a bit disappointing, but not surprising, given the fact that the pre-drive 12 are all normal people, and to be honest, although we all LOVED the 1M when we drove it [November 2010], none of us are independently wealthy, and while we all instantly wanted to own a 1M... we all also realized that there may be challenges in selling our current cars and making such a big investment. Since I wasn't smart enough to listen to my own advice and plunk money down on a deposit right away... I entered the fray to purchase a 1M in May [2011]... and through assistance from Papethova (who is currently on his own ED experience) I secured an allocation, although not without a lot of heartache and concern. Finally my allocation came through in July and my ED date was determined as 09/01/11 and I set about making plans for the trip."

This is correct ! I believe I was the only person to purchase one initially.. Jason CSU was on a wait list but got hit with the a 5K (manager/owner) tax on his previously agreed on price and he opted out. I know that one of the fellows that owned a 135 purchased an M5 instead.. I am curious to get reacquainted with Jezzer |

IIRC that was Wolands Advocate. I believe he has an M135i (4-door) on order now.

Only the good looking ones, a photo in swimsuit was mandatory for being eligible
Just kidding. Now the serious answer: There was a M division web site that you should get registered in first, there it was possible to follow development news, photos and videos for the 1M, kind of an internet (and long) teaser and then wait for the lottery win. Just that. BMW should have a kind of criteria in their mind, that's for sure. Membership in local/national BMW web forums, car clubs, owning various BMWs come to mind as some possibilities.
