I really, really really hope everyone

that everyone ordering e90s now on, get the comfort access. its SUCH a great idea, im so mad it wasnt an option when i ordered otherwise i would have got it 100%. if there was a way to retrofit it, i would pay twice what the option actually costs. AND if even KNEW it was gonna be an option, i would have waited to order the car.

i've been an opponent of CA for the longest time but after seeing these videos, i kind of regret not getting it making it the first option (and the only one so far) that i would definitely pick had i the choice of ordering my car again.

The reason I didn't get CA is because I was told the LED lights on the door handles don't light up until you get real close to the car. I like the idea of seeing those awesome lights go on when I'm still 50 yards away. Makes the car look like a space pod. chicks dig it too

My...CA does gather a very strong support in this forum.

Having said that the e90 key/entry/start procedure is pretty special and entertaining in its own right. CA might take too much away imho... although everytime I start reading threads like this one, I start to self-doubt my order.

Yes, I owe it to the members here for my CA. I actually called back a week after placing my order and requesting they add CA to my order after I read the feedback from this forum. PHEW! CA is one of those things that proves to be much more valuable after you actually have it and put it to use. Whereas on paper, it does not seem as neccessary.

I did a test drive with an with-out CA and decided against it. I just did not feel it was worth $500 to not have to insert the fob.

Its a crying shame that BMW insists on charging for a feature that should be standard. While I think it would be nice to have, if you are having to choose options to save money, I can think of other options that are a better value, ie. larger wheels, leather.

It is unbelievable...the sheer convenience of just walking up to your car and putting your hand there to unlock is invaluable. As for the door lighting thing, if you really want it to light up from far away, just use your key to unlock...I don't see an issue.

Yes, thank you to all on this forum who said this feature is a must. Nothing like not having to dig around for your keys in your pocket or briefcase when your hands are full. I just stick my keys in my briefcase when I lock the front door in the morning and don't have to take them out again until unlocking the door at night. Nice!

My friend has something similiar in his MB E-class. I think thats the best feature of the car. Comfort Access was the first thing I told the dealer I wanted. HA!

I'm ordering a 325xi and was told by the dealer that it might be possible to order CA on the 325 but it would be almost double the price. I'm pretty sure I would pay double for the feature as I think it's awesome. Has anyone else heard about custom ordering a 325 with CA? Maybe if I'm lucky the 07 will come with it as a standard feature... :rocks:

why would it double the price? it's $500 ($455 invoice) on either the 325 or 330.

Not in Canada... It isn't even an OPTION on the 325.

all i know is AT LEAST once a week, i get to my car with my hands FULLLL of stuff. my fingers are free enough to be able to pull on the handle, or open the trunk, but my hands are too full to get in my pocket to get the key. AT LEAST once a week, this wouldnt be a problem if the car unlocked its self just by me standing close enough. My next bmw will 100% have comfort access. i think its the besst 500 bucks you can spend on an option.

CA was offered to me exactly 1 year ago when i ordered my car. saw it in action but i was not convinced.

i am not at all sorry for not ordering it. no big deal for me at all.

iam not against it, but the cost of the options here means a strict pririty in options for the car otherwise the total cost blow right out and for a 325, can easily hot six figures AUD$.

for those of you who have CA, enjoy.
