New guy sharing his recently acquired 2009 135i Coupe

Hey everyone, I have been enjoying reading the forum and wanted to share my fairly new to me 2009 135i. I was leasing a 2016 340xi and had to find something to replace it as the lease was coming to an end. In my search for a replacement I stumbled upon this low mileage e82 that was located only an hour from me. The car had just under 13,000 miles and seemed to be in beautiful condition. After seeing it I knew that I had to have it. The story that came with the car was that the original owner bought it at a local dealership and only put 8,000 or so miles on it in almost a decade of ownership. The mechanic that bought it was using it as his daily driver and put an additional 4,000 or so miles on it in the few months that he had it. Story aside, the car drives great and everything works. The only issues with the car were that it clearly lived outside so some of the plastic bits had become sun-faded and the original owner never saw a curb that he didn't feel with a rim. I believe that the car only has 3 additional options. It has heated seats and a heated steering wheel as well as light burl walnut trim. I was thrilled to see that it had so few options as that is how I prefer my cars. My f30 only had standalone navigation and the driver assistance package. I am sure it was the only 340xi in the northeast with no heated items. Here are some pics from the first time I saw my beloved e82 in April 2019.

Here is one with my now gone 340xi sportline. It had Dinan freeflow exhaust from the cat back. I am sure that my neighbors are depressed that I had to give it back. If anyone needs an f30 dinan muffler please let me know. haha.

Here are a few random pics after a few months of ownership:

And finally a few rather poor pics that I took this morning. The sun is nowhere to be found. All that I have done to the car besides clean it is replace the side makers and one of the decorative door sills. I have put about 1,500 miles on the car since April. Haha. I am by no means a heavy driver but that will go up significantly in 2020.

WeatherTech floor mats say something. Either you or previous owner really cares about their car.

Welcome to 1Addicts

That 6 speed manual looks to be the most important option to me!

Haha. That was my doing. I ordered them the moment I bought the car. Like all of you I care too much for my vehicles. I washed it on christmas day while my family was visiting. Haha.

Sweet buy brother, but please tell me that you have not driven 587 miles on 1/3 of a tank.

What the hell! Thats incredible to find a 6spd with that low mileage. Brand new from a powertrain perspective! Good for you.

Really interested in hearing your driving comparisons between your 340xi and the 135i as they are both future options I weigh mentally from time to time you know...just in case

Better weather mats and paint protection. The two things I'd do better if I could do it all over again.

Thanks for the compliment! I plan to make a thread reviewing my 340xi ownership experience shortly. Stay tuned. In short it was an excellent car. B58b30 + xdrive + 8 speed zf is a special combination. My average manual driving skills vs that brilliant zf makes for a difficult comparison. Do I regret replacing the 340 with my 135i? Absolutely not.
