UK 1M Siebon Carbon Bonnet

Went to see RSMatts 1M mods that were carried out by Lee at CCC in Hitchin, Herts. Lee has a reputation in the UK as one of the best at custom work, modifications and paintwork.

Matt imported the Siebon carbon fibre bonnet from the US and Lee carried out the sprayjob and fitted using struts from an E92 M3. The M3 look bonnet has the vents shown in the original carbon and the results are amazing.

Front grille and side repeaters are sprayed in the same colour as the rear diffuser, which IMO looks better than black, chrome or colour coded.

BMW Performance spoiler was about to be fitted to the rear but I ran out of charge on phone.

Wheels were Powder coated in Audi Titanium matt grey and H & R spacers 15mm/20mm were fitted. H & R springs will be fitted in the next few weeks to finish off the look.

Enjoy

Hood looks great! This could be my next investment. With regards to the spacers and lowering the car, I think you're going to have some rubbing issues.

Spacers are 15mm rear and 12mm front will be changed to 12mm rear and 10mm front when it's lowered supplier sent wrong size rear spacers no rubbing with this set up on standard suspension.

I think the hood has really changed the look of the car together with the dark grey wheels looks alot more menacing on the road

Lee the sprayer was really impressed with the quality he said it was the best carbon bonnet he had seen the standard 1m bonnet struts are to powerful as the bonnet is much lighter you have to change these to e92 m3 gas struts which have half the power they are a little longer but they do fit

Looks quality mate, we said you wont go wrong having Lee sort it out for you, he is a mate but I wouldn't take my cars anywhere else for a reason, good to see it in full, the pic Jez texted me was a little hard to see but the finish off the wheels suits the VO spot on, now need to have a full check out of your bonnet to see if its the route I will also take but that will be after I sort the KW DDC set up...............

Looks bloody great.

How about some more photos? Can you still see the CF weave thru the paint? Or did they lay the paint on thick?

Looks absolutely great!

Any chance of some side one shots?

Have you had a chance to get some speed up?

Scott26 said that M didn't put the bulge on OEM due to high speed stability.

Hood and wheels look great, have the same finish on my Audi, always felt it would look good on the 1///M, thx for confirming!

How is the fitment of the hood, particularly the seams on both sides, exact and uniform? The pic with the driver in the car makes it seem like the driver's side corner is a bit off but I recon that is just the quality/shadow of the pic.

This looks absolutely amazing. Second time I'm saying this today after seeing the new M6.
Hit the nail on the head with this one. The tiniest miniscule change I would want would be to make the vents an inch wider and perhaps 2 inches longer towards the front with two slats in them. That for me would be purrrrfect haha would be an instant buy. Great job

*Edit*... this bonnet is Carbon Fiber?!? Even more amazing.

Looks great. I'd love to see some more pics that showcase the vents.

Are they the vents the exact same size as the M3 vents? They look a bit bigger and appear to have a different weave.

Also, why no hood-pins?

Oh... and how much!!?

The bonnet vents are the same size and shape as on the m3 I think I looked at a 2011 m3 the other day and it's vents looked very similar although they were not carbon! This is a full carbon bonnet though so the vents are moulded where the m3 has a ally bonnet with vents stuck in. The gaps down the sides are bigger than standard but they are uniform and although I would have preferred them slightly smaller it's a carbon bonnet not made for this actual car but from a pattern and I suppose you have to allow for that if I had been in the states i might have sent it back but I have waited a while for this and the quality of the bonnet is so good I was prepared to accept this as there would be no guarantee another bonnet would be bigger!

I wanted the car to look oem didn't want hood pins

I paid £740 for the bonnet plus spraying don't know exactly how much the bonnet was to spray as I got a job lot but if you are in the uk and want real service and attention to detail go and see Lee at Ccc in hitchin he is an absolute star and the best sprayer I have EVER met
