Grabbing the Seatbelt
Hello,
I came from a e92 335i coupe and in that car, a seat belt arm would pop out from the back and it would bring the seat belt to the driver so the least amount of effort is required to grab your seat belt. In the 135, it doesn't have this feature of course. However, the seat belt is quite far back relative to the seating position which makes it a hassle to grab the belt each time I get in the car! Does anyone have a solution or suggestion on making it more easy to grab the belt? Perhaps some kind of seat belt holder that would be attached to the seat? Thanks! |

My solution is to stretch and increase your physical capacity to the point where you can just reach and grab the belt. It's not that hard lol. You will see many benefits from being in better shape.

I find the seatbelt is easiest to grab in the E82 when i am able to comfortably dislocate my shoulder joint on command; a small price to pay for whole body protection!

You get used to it.
After three years I don't even think about it or notice anymore.

I've never had a problem with it, or even noticed or thought it was difficult and I'm on my second 1er (since 2008). Just click it and forget it.

I always move my seat backwards to prevent side bolster damage, so when the seat is moved back, I grab the belt with my right arm, click on the memory setting while holding the seat belt and then buckle up. Or when I reach the seat belt with my left arm from the bottom. It's kinda annoying, but I've got used to it. |

I know, I know, there has been like one case EVER where somebody died wearing a seatbelt who would have lived if they weren't, so if you point to THAT guy as your example, well best of luck to ya. BTW, so as to not get into an argument over it, I am not calling you dumb. Just saying that driving without a seatbelt is dumb. Smart people do dumb shit all the time. Just like motorcyclists without helmets. I'm not saying you shouldn't do it; quite the contrary actually - there are plenty of people desperately in need of organ donors.

Hope I caught you in time. Save your money. BMW should be ashamed to put their name on these extremely poor quality accessories. I bought these shortly after buying my 1 and they lasted maybe 1 week. Both of them broke. As others have stated twist a bit and its a non-issue. Save the $35 and spend it on something more useful like early retirement or your next BMW.
