so it came in today
well my car came in today, looked like a beauty, alpine white 128i, sports pkg, xenon, and aero kit. well there was a hugeeeee glaring error, it didnt have the cosmetic rear spoiler that was included in the aero kit. i told the dealer about this, and they were like..."it doesnt come with the kit." How the hell does it not come with the kit, if it shows on the official bmwusa.com website. so after 3 months of waiting, its back to some more waiting, and hopefully its gonna be done right this time around.
pics will be up soon...havent seen much 128i with the aero around

so check this...the dealer called in today, and they were able to offer me the carbon fiber spoiler for no extra charge, take it ? or make them paint it white?

yeahh i was leaning towards not painting it, good way to make up for more waiting time dontcha think? a free cf spoiler

cosmetic rear spoiler? or cosmetic rear bumper with diffuser like the 135i has? The aero kit includes a rear bumper with a diffuser, but I didn't think it included a rear spoiler.
Similar thing happened to me on my 128i. I ordered the aero kit and the rear bumper was not installed. At first they also told me it wasn't part of the kit, but when I proved to them that it was, they got the shop manager and he told me it was on backorder so they couldn't get it at the same time. Total miscommunication. They have since then ordered it and will paint it & install it at no extra cost to me. I'll have to put pics up when I get it too. It will be probably next week. |

yeah for me...my problem was like...i showed them the website and how the 128i looked with the aero kit on, and it had the sideskirts, front damper, rear diffuser, mud guards and a small spoiler
they seriously need to update the website, cuz i basically flipped a switch when i saw the car without the spoiler haha. i was gonna NOT buy the dam car until something was done, and the cf spoiler is what i get =). i couldve also wreaked havoc about the mud guards...but eh. i dont have a decent cam to take pics with, or the cable to transfer it..i'll find a way to upload pics before i drive to sd (from oakland)....here comes the bug guts

While i completely understand you making them right a mistake, I think its quite a bit much to "flip a switch" and call it a "glaring error" Didn't the car arrive like this? The people you're going nuts on had nothing to do with 1 missing part on your car?
Also considering these are aftermarket installed accessories it seems completely pointless to consider not buying the car and ordering another one. Now if they got the transmission wrong or forgot sport package, I'd surely expect a post like this.

to bruck, i was just upset at the fact that, if i paid for something, i expect to what i paid for. it was probably the website that was wrong and they should correct it. from my understanding or so the dealership tells me, apparently the spoiler(the noncf one) does not come with the aero kit, although it clearly shows it has it when you check the aero kit box for a 128i on the bmwusa.com website. that was what i was worried about when i asked the dealer about the aero kit, i specifically asked him will it look like what i have selected on the build-your-own feature. and he gave a simple yes.
but yes, flipping a switch was an exaggeration, it was more like being quite annoyed. the car was a beauty regardless of the spoiler or not...but i wanted the spoiler =) hah i sound kinda spoiled now dont i.
