We got the new 135 VERT and have a question

Picked it up before dinner, and it was worth the wait. Blue Water, Taupe, Black top,,,,,sounds great, looks great, and handles great. I do have one question....

It is the Steptoninc, and I noticed that at around 40 MPH it upshifts relatively hard....you feel it. Even my wife noticed it. That is just a regulr transmission ipshift, not beating on it or anything. Maybe because I have never had a N54 before, its normal. I know it not like a X5 or a smooth Lexus, but is it normal, or isa that when the turbo's kick in, or because it hardly has any miles on it. Outside of that, could not find one flaw.

Any thought, I deas? I will get some pictures up soon.

That goes away after time. The step is initially very hard on upshifts.

Well - are you sure you have it in Drive and not sport mode? It DOES shift differently in those two positions. If in Drive, and it continues for a few days, take it back to the dealer for them to check. Sorry - but a hard upshift is NOT normal unless you are pushing it "hard". Mine has been smooth in drive from day one. If everyone else feels it is normal, then I guess my transmission is the exception, but methinks not.

But then - I guess that depends on how "hard" you think "hard" is.

I have step and my upshift is very smooth. I recommend you get it looked at if it continues.

Also can you post some pics of your GTR beside your new 135i? Love to see the 2 side by side

I haven't experienced a hard shift in the 9 months I've had mine. Even in DS mode it doesn't shift in a manner that I would consider hard.

Went to the dealer, and drove the Lead Tech around. He got rifght on it, and resolved the problem. Had to perform some delete and test that was supposed to be done at the prep center. Tranny shifts perfect now. We love this little pocket rocket. Now we just need better weather in Chicago.

Good to hear it was resolved. It certainly seemed to be not normal.

No, it was not normal. Now, perfect. I even learned ghow to program all Audio, Navi, working on a few voice commands. I will follow the recommended break-in procedure, but will have the oil changed every 6 months or 6,000 miles.

It probably doesn't need it but I paid for the oil change at 1500kms as I just couldn't have that break in oil in my car until it hit 20,000kms as they suggest it should be.

Not so much a hard shift in DS as it is instant -- which in turn makes it seem hard I guess relative to the regular D mode.
