Thanks Ralph - great description of the action from the driver's seat.

Here's a shot from Craig's camera of Ralph ready to do battle (as usual, higher res in photo gallery)

Thanks - now that the roll cage certification process is over, we have the car home again and can start working on the livery that you see in the sig pic

Well, in between races, we prepare for upcoming events (including shows) and work on our livery.

Scott Kim of AAE came over to our humble garage in HB and installed clear bra on the hood -

Hi res pics in my photo gallery: http://www.bimmerfest.com/photos/sho...y.php/cat/3257

And installed yellow headlight covers

Looks great and the convenience of coming to me (with my hectic race team managing schedule) helps me a lot

Looking really good, Scott and Ralph! I assume you're going to try to work on the limp mode issues? I see the Dinan decals. In stock class, can you do anything like the Dinan larger oil cooler, or a larger intercooler? How about some fancy ducting to get more air in the engine bay or a larger auxillary fan?

We think the Dinan software, oil cooler (and not racing as few times as possible in 100+ deg. temperatures) will help.

We also have some Total oil/ elf racing grade products on the way that may also reduce engine temperatures, so we'll be keeping everyone posted on how that works out. We are going to try the Total Quartz 10W-50 racing motor oil. A shop that we trust and have been working with since 2004 is starting to use it in all the race and M cars they service saying they have experience lower engine oil temps.

So I take it the car is alot heavier now due to the roll cage, but I was just wondering if carbon fiber products such trunk lid and hood are allowed in your racing class? Good luck with everything!

Not legal for us in stock class - in fact, not even legal in prepared class - only in Mod class in BMW Club Racing.

With the cage, we're right at about the class weight for our car.

More livery work - at Wayne's A-One Auto Body in Huntington Beach to get the 'Black-out' treatment on the bumpers and rocker panels

Pieces off the car

Prepping the front bumper

That's the plan at this point in time - so unless something happens to derail me, I'll be driving the 135i cross-country to WG

A little time to wipe down the car and head to the SoCal Euro gathering at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

Hope you make it. We need to set up a libation session some night for the attending 1addicts. I have the Autox awards to do on Friday evening at the social, and then the big dinner on Sat night. Wed or Thursday night if 1addicts are free, might be a good time to have a few drinks and maybe dinner together.

The black looks good, Scott! Are you still planning on having that Sedona-like section in back, a la your signature?

Hopefully I make it there by Thursday night and not early in the morning on Friday.

Yes, we go to the vinyl shop today to begin wrapping the red portion of the car.

NOW it officially looks like an SCTS race car. Well done! Still hoping to see you guys at Sears next month, but that SCCA weekend isn't looking likely for me.
