I have leatherette and heated seats (standard in Canada). They work great, and incredibly fast. Within 10 seconds on turning it on you can feel the warmth, and in less than a minute they can be pretty darn toasty.

I currently have heated seats in the X5, but the X5 also has leather and from my experience leatherette can get sticky (sweaty) when hot.

actually....heated seats on leatherette from my experience heat up much faster and do not damage or expand the material. If you have genuine leather, then turning heated seats on and off every day can expand the leather to the point where its loose.

Got them w/ heat. Wouldn't do it any other way!

Just as a note... most people comment on how the Leatherette makes you sweat.... they abviously do not realize that the tanning process often removes the breathability of the leather and that most other manufacturers use split grain with a sprayed on color .... aka rubber/plastic paint. This is why on certain cars the color is not all the way through. Granted the BMW uses full grain leather that is fully tanned, it is still not that breathable, I still sweated and it is not very durable.
Audi leather is good leather that is durable and functional (and still makes me sweat)

Heated seats with leather. That should have been a poll choice.

I'm getting the cold-weather package and I live in the desert in Arizona! In the winter it can actually get below 32F here (it can snow as well, but it doesn't hang around very long). I've had heated seats on my last couple of cars. It's handy when the car is cold but the climate control isn't warm enough to blow warm air yet.

I'm in SoCal, my sister got her E90 with heated seats. We've used them a few times. They work a lot better than the ones in my G.

Heated seats are not only for those cold days/mornings. I turn it on low on long-distance trips and it loosens up my back... thats the main reason why I got heated seats....

I have leather without the heated seats. I passed on voting because the choices make no sense to me.

I got to use bmw heated seats. omg, thats a sleeping pill.

Im glad I didn't get it. It would have caused some trouble for me. Honestly, I loved it, it gets warm real fast, and makes you feel 'home'. within few minutes however, I wanted to pull over and have a comfy sleep. Car never felt so "bed"-sh.

If I was living in colder region though, heated seats will be primary.
