Funny.

If you're interested in a LSD, check out Wavetech. They seem to work well with our cars and are virtually maintenance-free.

Our differentials are welded so they cost a mint. HP Autoworks sells one but I don't think Wavtrec has one for the DCT yet. Be prepaired to pay close to $4k. Sorry, maybe something will show up that is cheaper at some point but because it is welded instead of bolted like the old Step Transmission it will always be expensive with labor and something that most people could not do on their own.

PM Harold at HP Autoworks, he's probably the most knowledgeable person on here when it comes to differentials.

Quaife on the dct is about $3200 installed. Had mine installed about three weeks back. All work done locally so no core was required.

I got a quote for the parts
• 30.309.173WK BMW E87/E92 135i/335is DCT, 335d; E89 Z4 35i DCT (215K)
• 30.309.174WK INSTALL KIT: 30.309.173WK (215K)
$2,570 delivered, then need to find someone to machine and install which is proving difficult.
It's getting put in the too hard/expensive basket.

The BR Racing diff costs $2370 shipped and comes complete (as a pumpkin) with any gear set you want.

Yup, haven't put it in yet though. I believe the cost is the same for their automatic version... a little higher if you want specific gears.

Interesting I haven't heard of theirs, is it a Torsen or clutch type?

clutch, built to order. Offer different gear ratios based on need. I went with 3.46. Uses an OEM housing and OEM parts with a brand new gearset and their custom LSD. I'm going to make a write up on it once I get it installed.
