BMW 135i vs. 2016 Porsche GT3 RS and McLaren MP4-12C
The 1er versus two magnificent cars.
Racetrack: Sonoma Raceway (Sears Point) The 135i is no slouch! Enjoy the chase: . Setup: Stock tune and 235/265 Hankook RS3's with Ohlins R&T, Quaife LSD, M3 arms/bushings, Vorshlag camber plates at -2.1, and PFC-08 pads with Motul RBF 660. Dyno'd at 270hp/272tq at the wheels. Cooling: Distilled water as engine coolant plus 2 bottles of Redline WaterWetter. Notes: The track was damp from light rain in the previous session and a little slippery near certain edges and strips. Tried water-methanol injection (50/50) with a small nozzle but did not help temps much (<5 degree improvement). Although not as bad as at MRLS, brake fade was still a major issue.

That's really impressive that the 135 is that quick on stock power. I always felt what it needed was better suspension and an lsd. Nice driving by the way. Looks like blast.

Great driving, I think the cars best mod is definitely driver mod in this case.

Well driven! That thing corners so flat, looks great through those esses. I've subbed to your YouTube channel, great quality videos, keep 'em coming!
Curious as to why you're brake pedal is not the sport style? (Just an observation) |

That was impressive and fun to watch. It's confidence inspiring to see the true track ability of the 135i demonstrated like this.

I’ll say the 135i has impressed me too as I didn’t ever imagine this car could be this fast without doing extreme changes/upgrades such as weight reduction, fender flares for wider tires, R-compounds, etc. This car is a daily driver and still very comfortable for long drives and road trips. Thanks!

I felt the aluminum sport style was slightly small (and a little slippery) for precise heel-toeing on the track so I changed to the rubber cover which is thicker and has much better grip. I still like the feel of the aluminum for the clutch and throttle. Aesthetically, the mismatch does look odd… Happy to know! |
