Brisbane Motorkhana August 14th

Hello Guys,

Thank-you to all those that have posted all the positive news on my Motorkhanas. The bad news is that Mt Cotton Management will no longer allow Motorkhanas to be run BUT the good news is that I have one last booking that I will use for that very purpose

For those that have posted to the thread on the July event, you will all know what it is about. For those interested, have a look at the thread and see!

But cutting to the chase, I may have a few places left for my last event, which will carry on the tradition of what I have done until now, with a surprise run at the end.

If you want to come one last time to a wet pure motorkhana for some motoring fun, please shoot me an email at rolandporst@hotmail.com

It will be a sad day saying goodbye to the motorkhana format but let's just say it will be a BIG one!

Cheers,
Roland

So what's the plan, Roland, an afternoon session and then slip into a tux for the Club awards night?

I'll be lying somewhere on the sand at South Stradbroke, beer and/or fishing rod in hand on that day.

MATTYV
Don't forget lakeside raceway this sunday breakfast and laps around the track and watch the days racing from the deck all day as jimmy richards is racing the bowdens bmw 635 will be a great day
BMW CLUB DAY

Hi folks,

Sorry for the intrusion again, but this is of “major” interest to just about all of us ............... and it has only just come to our attention!!!!!

In addition to the details previously sent out re the breakfast on Sunday, it has come to our attention that the following car will be there on the day and will be driven by “you know who!!”

Click on this link to find out more:- http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/...d=170351845740

So, if this changes your opinion about whether you are coming or not, here are the details again for the day ................................

I have spoken to John Tetley and he is wanting to do the following format for the day:-

Arrive at 7.30am. Pay your $15 pp for breakfast at the gate (for those who are not staying after the breakfast) or pay $35 pp (for those who are staying for the “Touring Car legends” event. Then proceed to the Lakeside Function Centre (thru the tunnel) and park in front.

Our track time to commence from 7.45am and finish by 8.15am. Then we proceed back to the Lakeside Function Centre, park in front and go upstairs for a private breakfast out on the decking overlooking the track.

Then, at the finish of breakfast by say 9.00am, those of us who are not staying are to leave the circuit via Lakeside Drive. As this road is being totally revamped and will be widened to take 2 way traffic more easily.
Those of us who are wanting to stay, can then make ourselves comfortable on the deck and do it “tough” watching the event unfold before our very eyes!!!!

So, we have the capacity to take a lot more people should you wish to come. We are only at 38 for the moment and could take say 30 to 40 more people. BUT, you have to act quickly, as I have been asked to have final numbers to Lakeside by THIS Thursday night. To those of you who are replying to this email for the first time, please let me know if you are planning to stay on. As I also have to let Lakeside know how many there will be.

I trust this is all makes sense. John Tetley is planning to look after us very well and I wouldn’t like to let him down, too far!! He does value our patronage and it is nice to see.

Thank you

This is going to be a great event and should get our full support. However, the less cars attending, the more space there will be on the track for me.

I probably should have mentioned that oops... it's a morning session. So the benefit is that I can get in earlier and have it all set up by the 8:30am start time. It is the best way to get most time on the tarmac and being done by 12:30 there is ample time to rinse off the car and go to the dinner There are still a couple places so get in touch if you are interested.

Mt Cotton have given more feedback and it is still pushing their side so this will be the last hoorah as far as pure driving motorkhana's go. The type of driver training will have to be looked at later.
