clutch slave bleeding on 128i 6-speed?
I'm going to be installing a modified CDV in a couple of weeks, and I'm wondering if I need to order some specialist wrenches for the bleed screw.
The 128i's transmission is 'skinnier' than the 135i, so I'm thinking that means a bit more room to work. I've got a set of regular brake flare wrenches right now, and I'm wondering if they'll fit ok. I've read the DIY threads but I think they were all for 135is. Any suggestions or tips? |

I think its 11mm. Sears had a nice 10-11mm 12pt. box end part.44360. I used a 6pt. socket to initially loosen it. There is a definite stop point on the plastic bleed screw.

Thanks - good to know a straight wrench will fit.
Please could you give me a bit more info on the stop point? Do you mean it only unscrews a bit then stops? |

I think that's what he meant. There isn't much room once you get the screw out to a certain point meaning you need a tool that doesn't add to the limited room to completely remove the bolt. I'm still wanting to do this mod, but I don't want to go through the hassle of bleeding.

DO NOT even try changing your CDV without one of these... http://store.motiveproducts.com/euro...-0100-p34.aspx Motive's brake pressure bleeder. Get the euro cap adpator - works just fine. Yes, the cutch slave bleed screw was 11mm on my 1235i. Should be the same on your 128i. Dackel PS: make sure you read the CDV delete DIY! |

Got the motive bleeder all ready to go . I'm flushing the brake fluid while I'm at it since I'm at one year.
The DIY I saw (I think you might have posted it actually) showed these S-shaped and C-shaped wrenches. I was wondering if I need those to get at the clutch bleed screw. I"ll make sure I get photos when I'm doing this. |
