BMW Post-Purchase Survey

Having purchased my CPO car a couple of weeks ago, I subsequently received an email invitation to complete a survey. However, this was not the standard survey about the buyer's dealership experience; this one asked for my thoughts about the specific car I bought, the BMW brand, and the company's future direction. The email indicated that I had been "randomly selected to participate" in this survey.

Interestingly, the survey included questions regarding:
  • Features that should be standard on BMWs.
  • Adjectives that the public associates with the BMW brand (for example, I chose "Sporty" and "Luxurious", but could not bring myself to select "Reliable").
  • Awareness of and interest in forthcoming electric and/or hybrid BMW models.
  • Whether run-flat tires constitute a positive or negative feature of my car.

Has anyone else received this survey?

Speak up about run flats

I always include a negative comment about run flats in my post-service survey- expensive replacement, poor ride quality. Who knows if anyone at BMW HQ reads these things, but no cost in trying.

Why, do you need them on the 135, especially in the US high performance tires are useless on any car, unless you track. Or do they perform on the street better on the 135 than on the 128, going from traffic light to traffic light, and max 80mph on the highway????

Performance tires make a world of difference when you have 400+ hp. I obviously don't drive my car the speed limit or easy and i'm sure all other 135 owners are similar.

Agree that RFs are balls. But did anyone else notice the extra body roll when switching to non run flat high perf tires? Good thing that extra roll came with extra grip

I also love how the dealer notes include: "Non Run-Flat tires installed! Omfg!!'" After a service

Yes. I got one.
I dumped on the RF's.

"What feature do you wish your new car had but was unavailable....ans: A LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL.

I also told them to shove their TPMS wheel sensors.

That's not the question, the statement was between 230HP and 300HP (128 vs. 135)

High performance tires will still make no difference whatsoever between both cars. Saying you need them on a 135 and they make no sense on a 128, just speaks for lack of knowledge, sorry!

alvitdk, you're dealing with a "Beavis & Butthead" type here. Don't waste your time.

Don't feed the troll. He's only looking for one thing.

@OP: what did you answer on the run flats? I assume you told them to stuff them, right?

Maybe we should all chime in as well, let me call 1M owners for back up, how many people would be enough?

On a relevant note, my previous car was a 330i sedan with run flats and it was the worst thing about that car, that has nothing to do with actual or claimed hp of a car, and stock to stock 128 vs 135 is not like a Prius vs Ferrari Italia.

well, it's amazing BMW is even asking how we feel about rfts. Every one I've talked to, enthusiast or not, BMW owner or not HATES rfts. Other manufacturers have listened.
While I'm not going to completely over look an rft equipped car, I am automatically going to add to the price a set of new tires and a coil over suspension.

Thank you, indeed my point! But in any case, replacing the NRF tires with anything is one of the best investments one can do. I really wish BMW would go away with those.

Agreed about the troll.

Please see the screen shot attached to my original post for my responses to the RFT questions (basically, yes - what you said).

Yes, that was the point of my post; it quite surprised me.

That's been my experience as well. When I communicated this in a discussion with the BMW finance manager at the dealership (who was hoping to convince me that I was getting a lot more for my money with those), his response suggested that I had no idea what I was talking about and I was an uninformed consumer.
