ipod adapter
hi i was wondering if any tech people here that can help me ipod ready my car with pics like the diy forum. I do not have the ipod adapter feature on my car, but i have the aux in. I tried plugging the wire to my ipod but the sound quality is worse than tape cassette. Any suggestions on how i can modify it to be ipod ready? i do not have the premium audio, but i dont think that is the problem bc i think the sound quality is good with cd or radio. thanks a lot

I am running an ipod shuffle from the aux plug and the sound quality is just fine. Use the ipod to up the sound volume not the headunit it makes a difference.
Keep in mind you won't be able to use the steering wheel buttons to control the ipod, which is why I use the shuffle. To mess with the click wheel on a regular ipod while you are driving is dangerous. |

Just to explain the pic: I run the wire from the aux plug under the center console. In this forward position I can reach the shuffle if I have to without taking my eyes off the road.

i also have had no probs with sound quality running either an off-brand mp3 player or an apple ipod using the aux input jack. sounds just like a CD to me.
