Let's install the Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser

I am moving to a new host for my site and do not want to go through all my posts to keep images. As a result, I have converted this post into a PDF you can download.

Just how good of a deal are we talking? It might be bad to buy this before I get my car :iono:

What is the point of this mod? BMW added ballast to the back end to get the weight distribution right. So why would you want to make the back end lighter?

it is cosmetic ... like much of the CF BMW "performance" parts.

Cosmetic. Maybe it weighs half as much as the stock part which weighs very little to begin with. If weight savings is an issue, a CF roof, hood and trunk lid will do a lot more for you.

I think Eliot Spitzer said something similar recently

BTW I have one on my 130i cost me slightly less in GBP which is a nice surprise as we usually pay a LOT more for car stuff than you yanks.

hehe, guys this part is not for everyone. Basically it is for the buyer that wants something that is still "factory" parts yet is different. That really is the only reason I'd consider it and it still might prove to be too much $$$$ for me to swallow

The only thing I would worry about is parallel parkers with no skill. I had someone bump into my CF license plate surround which is in a similar place on my WRX and the thing was snapped into three pieces. Just like that, $150 down the drain.

OMG 1400.00 and its not even a functional diffuser! I guess that makes me really understand that I'm moving to a yuppie vehicle. I could buy almost a whole body kit for that for my current car.

... just ... wow... some people will throw money away for anything. if it was a fully functional undertrey that would be one thing but.... damn.

Just agreeing with all of the above. It costs too much for a cosmetic change. On the bright side, installation looks like a snap!

In person, these things do look damn nice. It's expensive, so that money's gotta be burning a hole in your pocket.
