M6 replica wheels will they fit? Getting worried....

Hi guys,

I'm turning in my Mini Cooper S for a E82 coupe.
It is on stock suspension (no M-suspension which is 15 mm lower) and I arranged it so I get the beemer with stock wheels on winter tires.

Now I bought wheels for my summer tires and I'm worried if they would fit (without rolling fenders or modifications)

They are 18"x8J M6 replica wheels with Dunlop Sportmaxx TT tires (225/40/R18)
but they have an offset of +35.

I know this is aggresive but they told me that they should fit my car without problems.

Just want some reassurance.

Greetz

You'll rub on bumps/with weight in the back... 40 is agressive with a 225... 35 is craaaaaazy.

It can be done I'm sure though.

These are 19x8 and based on how they are fitting probably ET35 as well.

I've seen these images before in another thread
these are:

Wheels: Répliques bmw style M6
Front: 19x8.5
Rear: 19x8.5

Tires:
Front: Dunlop sp sport maxx 225/35R19
Rear: Dunlop sp sport maxx 225/35R19

Didn't mention the offset but these are 0.5 inch wider.....

Also this car has an M-suspension (15 mm lower than my suspension)
So by my calculations the tire should be the same on this one but my rim should be about 6 mm inwards? (difference between 8 and 8.5 with ET35 offset)

Also depends on what you consider a fit. The M6 style looks good on the 1 but I think the wheels way out in the fender, like the pic above, looks cartoonish. Just my 02 cents.

I agree but I guess the cartoonish looks are the result from the combination of 225 tires with a 8.5 wheel (that's stretched). Also on this image the wheel is 8.5 while mine are 8 (resulting in a wheel that sticks out 6 mm less than the one shown)

Problem is I've read a lot of threads on diffent fora. I know some people are running these combinations on E87 (the hatch available here in Europe) with 225/40/R18 ET35 without problems.... But I don't know if there is a big diffence between the E87 and E82 (besides the fact that the E82 has a proper trunk and is a coupe)

Also I noticed that the german Tuner Lumma made 19x8.5 wheels with ET35 for the BMW1 cabrio

They must have checked for rubbing?

I'm looking into 17" M6 reps for winter, will these clear the brakes at all? I am hearing different stories and just want to make sure before I commit.

I seem to remember someone on this board tried test fitting 17" M6 reps and they didn't clear the brakes... u could always ask to test fit before u commit....

good luck

Feyd an ET35 would stickout 5 mm more than your wheels but on the image you showed it looks like you still have quite some space left....
