The whole time watching i was in awe.. I loved the comments from the anchor men. I got all giddy.. ahah when i was driving to the gym i kept thinkin that my car had 15 mins of fame. Haha.. But when he hit that woman with the baby, i agree, that was F-ed up! My awe turned into anger at that point.

Wow that's exactly how I felt. It was fun watching it dodge cars until it hit that car with the woman and her baby in it.

This will not do much for the already dodgy image of BMW drivers!

To make matters worse I was made in England (accent still noticeable) and drive a SG 330. I'd better lie low or I'll get mobbed by angry shopping Moms at the mall !

Great car but that asshole now owes me a beer!

I think we can all agree it was definitely cool watching our new cars on national tv for the first time, with the anchors making a big fuss about how amazing the car is. But it definitely didn't end the way we wanted it to...no one wanted to see that.

Thankfully, from the reports I read, only the grandmother had minor injuries...the mom and kid are just fine, thank God...still probably just a little shaken.

The baby is fine. The only injuries it suffered were from when the jackazz officer rocked it too fast on the hood of the car in a desperate attempt to look the the caring hero on CNN, as opposed to assuming it could maybe have spinal damage and properly checking it out. This doesn't show on the video download.

What we've learned:

1) The E90 is not just a kickazz car for law-abiding citizens (like myself - mostly,) but it's also an amazingly capable getaway car for criminals.

2) If a child or baby is in an accident, rocking it makes you look cool, but does the child or baby no good. Don't do it.

3) If your grams drives into a head-on, look after her and/or your infant first. Now, your instinct may be to jump out of the car and act like a gantsta idiot, but this instinct is in fact counterproductive, as unintuitive as that may seem.

4) This is most important. If people are slowing down and pulling over in front of you, let's just assume they have a reason to do so. Or maybe they're just randomly pulling over to pick up some gravel. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Best scenario you lose a minute. At worst someone crashes into you head-on.

5) Lastly, if you hear sirens and see red flashing lights, just pull over until these things pass.

...and let the police do their job! Don't be a vigilante with a pickup truck! Even the news guys were saying that guy was causing problems for police. For a minute there, I thought the guy with the truck was going to try one of those PIT manuvers on the bimmer going 100 mph. I think that would have been disasterous. Imagine what would have happened if he did that...

Excellent point. I forgot about that.

He's especially idiotic for trying to tango with a Bimmer. There should be a law. The BMW went all around them.

Seriously though, there's hardly anything dumber than that. I'm sure he wouldn't be feeling so cocky if his actions ended up hurting some innocent people. Just pull over and relax.

British Citizen, nam Mann. Verbal altercation at restaurant, racial slurs. Takes off, police chase.
HPD is a bunch of bumbling idiots.

They conducted a multi hour, 100+ persuit, through traffic on an individual who commited (at best) a minor "disturbing the peace" infraction?

Seriously, one needs to put the HPD commanders up against the wall and ask them if it was REALLY worth it to endanger the lives of hundreds of people just to hook up some idiot for yelling in a restaurant. Fucking shameful police work this is and HPD is more then lucky that the baby didn't die.

Chasing after known, violent fellons like cowboys and indians is one thing, mindless persuits in the name of looking tough (while endangering citizens) is another matter. I am pretty livid about this and so should the citizens of Houston.

Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While I was watching that video, I could hear the all too familiar roaring sound of the engine as the guy stepped on it. As odd as it is that car right there is exactly how mine is: Sparkling Graphite with the same interior but...ehemmm....I don't have the rear spoiler. Got to go hunting for that car get it! Such a shame for this dumbf__k racing an E90 against police and then be so stupid to go against the flow of cars so fast, especially when there are no cops right behind him.

Anyhow, at least mom and child were not bleeding and were ok.

Funny to hear the commentator talk about how "fast and maneuverable this car is" . I've done 135mph on mine but hey, it was late at night, there was noone around me and my radar detector was on. I'd be crazy, real crazy to have HPD chase me for 2 hours. They step back when they don't want you going that fast but there never leave you.

I think that guy is so dumb to have done that, hurt others and especially, ESPECIALLY!!!!!!!! : CRASH a BRAND NEW BIMMER LIKE MINE! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY BUCKS THAT CAR COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

One more thing. I wonder if the sales of E90's pick up even more? It worked for FORD with sales of White Broncos after the OJ chase.
