My 1M and my new DD

After many years of owning my 05 Subaru WRX STi I have made a big change in my DD.

Welcome to my 2004 330i ZHP Sedan. This car was a Garage find with only 52000 miles on her. She had sat in the garage unlicensed since 09. I had all fluids changed on the car, a fresh Alignment and a new set of Michelin PSS tires installed.

Those familiar with the USA only ZHP option know this is a pretty rare car on it's own, but to find an E46 with only 52000 miles on it makes it even better. I can't tell you how good this car sounds from 3500 rpms up to redline. It puts a smile on my face every time.

Of course the ZHP isn't even close to the 1M but it's not trying to be.

Good to hear from you. How's the 1M treating you.

This is the first E46 BMW I have owned and I am loving the car. The ZHP has it's own exhaust system and it is so good sounding Very fun car.

The only thing lacking in the ZHP package was a LSD. IMO bad decision for BMW to exclude it.

Good find. I've considered getting a DD and that's one of my 2 options I'm looking into, along with a '06 330 sedan.

Excellent condition Low Mileage cars are out there, it may take awhile to find one but I think they are a great choice. $15K got mine. That's half the price of even most low cost new cars.

I can't believe that ZHP car sat for so long unused by the previous owner. I take it they must have other cars to drive leaving the ZHP to sit in storage like that?

Excellent find! Makes me nostalgic for my e46 330. Loved the e46. I think it had the best interior with more of a driver oriented dash, and of course the window switches positioned centrally by the shifter. Should have kept it.

The guy I bought the car from was a Detective, so he drove his State car every day. His wife drove her kids and dog in a Toyota Land Cruiser ever day. He bought the car in 07 and put a total of 10,000 miles on the car after purchasing from the original owner. He didn't even license the car since 09.

Overall the car looks like Brand New. I had a PPI done at my local Dealer as well as had the car looked at at the Premier body shop in town. Car Fax and everyone else said the car looked perfect.

I'm happy to be the third owner of this great example of an older BMW. If you look into the ZHP Option you will find that it has subtle but significant changes from the Engine Cams and ECU mapping resulting in 10 hp, to M Body Work, special Interior Trim and Lower Rear gears ratios, it's own exhaust system that sounds great, and more. In a way its a bit like the old 2002tii from the 70's was to the standard 2002.

Great buy indeed, congratulations. I would definitely choose that over a E90 330i (and I owned one E90 before) even if the latter would come with similar mileage/condition and price. Right size, right weight and feel, right everything.
