Since you asked for more pics...and I clearly have way too many of my car in parking lots as I always love seeing my baby sitting there when I go back to it, here's one I hadn't posted before.

I'm just excited to be getting a BSM car, there doesn't seem to be that many on here, Either that or they just don't get the love they deserve.

IEDEI - Got any idea how much longer you'll be waiting? This week I hope!

Thanks? I don't think you'll really quite know how far it sticks out til you get it and see it in person. Here's another one of it in the blazing sun where you can see how prominent it is. It bothers some people and I imagine was a big reason why people get the CF diffusor, since it fits and suits it much better.

That, and the car is just begging for a CF diffusor to begin with. I think that may be my first "mod" after tires and tint. I just cringe at paying the price for the BMW CF part. You can get an aftermarket one for $350 or so but the fitment just....doesn't look 100% right, and that would bug the shit out of me.

Think I told you when you ordered it, I don't think there are any BSM IS people on here, or at least not active ones. I know Stampchez has a black one but pretty sure his is jet black.

I've had months where I was intent on getting the CF diffuser (especially during the wait), then others where i was completely the other way. Doesn't really bother me that it sticks out, and the BMW CF one is soooo expensive, it's hard for me to justify it. You can get it from some of the forum sponsors for like $1200 I think, but that's still a lot of money and far down on my list (tint, tires, and coding on the sirius were priorities). If it were $500 I'd probably do it though.

And then when people like mb135is and bp-plickner post their photos after they put it on, especially bp since he has a mineral grey, it pains me and i really want one...then i calm down after a few days and all is well again.

Ha! Yeah if the BMW CF one was $500 I'd have already ordered one.

Weird. Must be the lighting or something, but the back window looked very clear to me. Of course, I'm also blind. But my tint seems to look very different in pictures from different angles and lighting situations.

Actually, looking at it again, it's probably the oyster interior that may make it look that way to me since I'm so used to seeing the dark interior through the windows. NEVERMIND!

You may now focus on getting past 1200 miles to start really letting her out.

I rigorously adhered to the 1200-mile break-in guidelines (NO cheating!), then hit 1198 miles pulling into my garage on Saturday, September 7. It's been a blast ever since!!! I'm now at 1500. Michelin PSSs and an oil change happen this week. This car has personality!

I never cheated and still don't cheat it seems, as it's hard to even do on LA streets unless I put it in DS or full manual mode I suppose.

I'm curious why you decided to wait until after the break in period though to then put on the michelins? Oh, it's so much better with them on. The car handles and drives the way car was intended to without feeling like you're driving on concrete squares. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts afterwards.

Actually, my normal garage is much better as that other one in that picture is just at my local Trader Joe's parking lot, but is nice to drive around in there with my windows down and making it burble. <fights back tear> That's where I heard my very first burble, learning how to do it by taking foot off the gas.

And to be a post whore, anyone see this video before? Or Rik, I forgot to ask, did you get to see/drive the fleet of lemans blue 135is cars at the Performance Center?

Anyways, here's a fun video with good audio of two 135is's racing around a slick track with a lovely burble at the end as he pulls back in in shame:

Looking great. I might just have to do the mud flaps before winter myself. They actually look pretty good on Lemans blue

It wasn't really part of a plan to wait, I just happened to drive 1200 miles before getting around to ordering the Michelins. I only had the car one week before racking up 1200 miles... the 600-mile trip home from the Performance Center certainly helped! I got home, did more research, then looked for the best price (I ended up with the Tire Rack price). I'm past 1600 miles today. Where are my tires?!?!

Yes!!! I did see and drive one of the Lemans Blue 135is cars at the PC!!! As you know, for much of the driving instruction they put you in a car like the one you will drive home. Here's a photo sitting in the driver's seat (with wife in passenger seat) doing a radio check and last-minute instructions from Andy Van Cleef before getting started, second photo the 135is we drove (just prior to our M5 demo lap). They told us there are 8 delivery slots per day at the PC, but there were only 5 the day we were there. Delivered that day was an X3, X6, X1, 750i, and our 135is.

Ah, I had a senior moment where I forgot 600 miles were knocked off right off the top, so thought there was some calculated correlation between post break-in oil change and the new tires. You'll love 'em though (whenever they arrive).

I actually didn't know that much about the Performance Center delivery option because it's never been a very feasible option for us west coasters unfortunately. I was never sure if you got performance driving instruction and experience in YOUR actual car you were buying and/or I just assumed they had a fleet of various m-cars that you got to drive around in. So, I hadn't even contemplated or fathomed them having a 135is there until a few days ago when that professional photographer on here posted performance center pics and I saw 2 lemans blue IS's! And then I saw that video I posted the next day, too.

So, that sounds 1,000 times better than I could have imagined since you get professional driving lessons in an identical car to your own and get to really drive and push THEIRS before getting in yours and driving home, knowing the full potential and limits of our lil guys.

Now I'm really jealous. And about to go open my giant box with the BMW trunk luggage mat thingy and tire bag as I prep to try out a full size spare this weekend and see how I mentally handle losing most my trunk.

For the PCD experience, BMW is really just giving you a taste of what happens at the Performance Center. Seat time in the 135is was about lapping the autocross course for a few laps, switching drivers (my wife wasn't interested so I did more laps), then learning/practicing panic braking and collision avoidance maneuvers. We switched to 335s for the skidpad exercises, then took a hot lap in an M5 (spending most of the time sideways), then moved into X3s for the off-road course (amazing!). Actual car time was not long enough, but again, PCD is designed to give you only a taste and become aware of the capabilities/limits of your car. The rest of the 8am-3pm activities include a bit of classroom briefing up front, visiting the Zentrum (awesome!), lunch, high-speed pass through the gift shop, and of course, getting introduced to your new car!

The PC is 99% about driving schools and technical instruction... car deliveries are a maximum of 8 per day and obviously a tiny portion of the overall PC activities (we are definitely going back in the spring for an M driving school course!). The entire door-to-door experience was fantastic... one of my wife's favorite trips (and that is saying A LOT). BMW really does it right... picking you up at the airport, putting you up in the Marriott, feeding you, etc. Driving away in a new 135is with 600 miles of open road ahead was the cherry on top! -- Rick
