18" vs 19" wheels

Has anyone gotten 19" wheels and wished they had gone with 18"s or vice versa? I have been going back and forth for a couple months now and I need your insight.

A couple of my personal factors...

-I'm not a track kinda guy at this point.
-I want my car to look fairly slammed but not bagged.
-I plan on swapping out my suspension to a coil over system.
-Tires for 18" are about $150 cheaper and the sales rep said they will have about the same tire life as tires for 19" wheel.

Here's a couple examples of 18" and 19" that I like.

Top pic is 19"
Bottom is 18"

Let me know your thoughts and experiences!

I prefer the look of 19's on our cars but I think 18's look fine if you are lowered. I ended up getting 18's because I couldnt find LM reps in 19's with offsets that would fit. I am happy with how it turned out.

I think with 19's you can run stock m-sport height and it looks good but if you go with 18's you definitely have to lower. I had to do swift spec-r's at the same time for it to look right.

In terms of cost...yes 19" tires are more expensive but if you getting what you like the first time is worth $150.

I will probably switch to 19's once I get tired of my current set-up.

I slightly prefer 18 on our cars. Funny enough I feel the opposite of Dilmorecg, I think 19s look to big until the car is lowered, 18s look fine either way.

My 19's ride so much better than the stock 18's. I will only roll 19's on my 135i. Currently on Msport suspension, but will be doing coil overs soon.

I agree with you. I feel like if I went with 18" I would def have to lower it a lot. Maybe, I could run just springs with 19"?

I started tracking my car.
Also 18s fit better, rode better, cheaper tires and look better in my opinion.

Could not imagine how bad our cars would ride on 19's. With 18's, we are already using 35 series tires. 19's? No thanks.

+1. I would imagine ride quality with 19s is horrible. IMO 18s look better, ride better, and are cheaper.

I definitely prefer softer shouldered tires when I go with bigger wheels. When I first traded my stock wheels with runflats for my current wheels, these wheels had Falkens on front. Once I went to PSS's, etc the ride was fine with 19s, with stiff tires it will be pretty harsh.

18s look way better for our cars. I personally think 19s look like clown shoes. Way too oversized for our cars. Maybe for the E9x, but not for E8x.
