Deposit refundable??
Hi, I would like to know if deposit is refundable? I give them a 1000$ deposit but then now I want to wait for the 335. I didn't sign anything yet. Oh by the way, I think the dealer doesn't like me very much .

Fully refundable, might take a week or two to get it back though. I wouldn't shift it to as 335i deposit like the other poster suggests, you'd be giving the dealer a 1.5 year interest free loan and tie yourself into that dealer.

I would personally get the money back and wait until 335 is released. I don't know if you can cut a good deal before a car is released (this is unless you are willing to pay the full price and not deal)
Good luck!

I would be annoyed if I were a dealer that had gotten a car per your specs and then you backed out, leaving me with a special ordered car to sell. Sure it happens all the time, not sure what the best way to approach the dealer on this would be. Bottom line is the bottom line though.

I do agree with you stressdoc. I actually feel real bad right now just thinking about it. But then to think about it, it's our hard earned money. We're talking about 50,000$ here, not 500$. Oh well, gimme more good reasons to surpass my guilt guys.

Well, he's not mad at me. It just that there's not that money bmw fanatics down here and since they're the only dealer, they mostly sell their car at msrp. I always come in trying to get a deal and annoyed them . Plus, I called my CA only 4 times and now he ignored me. VERY BAD DEALER. Hopefuly I will find time to drive to Houston one day.

Don't mean to be insensitive to the Hurricane victims, but the dealer should be happy to be getting any business these days in New Orleans.

Lol Calif. Thats what I thought too. I thought I might finally get a good deal out of this dealer but then boy was I wrong. Imagine everybody in the city overpaid by the insurance and all of them in need of a new car . I went into the dealer and thought it was Christmas Eve in Walmart. PEOPLE EVERYWHERE.

My thought is that if you regret a purchase for whatever reason, you will never enjoy what you have even though it may be a really good auto. This sounds like your first BMW purchase, the reason I say so being that, other than pure HP, I doubt that the 335i will drive any better than the e90 models that exist right now. Here's my 2 cents worth of advice... Don't plonk 50K hard earned cash (or equity or loan or otherwise) on a purchase you are not comfortable with. If you have ~50K in hand, put it into a good mutual fund and LEASE a 330i for 2 years ( pick a 325i if you really want a good 2 year deal). Then after you've got the e90 feel, revisit your position in 2 years time. Believe me your mutual fund will still be healthy (providing you be sensible) and in 2 yrs the 335i will be out, kinks worked out and ripe for your picking!! |
