Germany.....
I love it for the autobahns, but hate it for the rest of the roads in the small towns...
Today while driving down town I had to turn into this tiny opening with a squared off curb on each side about 5 inches high. Put a nice 5 to 6 inch scratch on the edge of my front passenger wheel... It's so bad there are flakes chipping off... I was about to order a JB4 to hold me over till Cobb gets to the 2013 n55 but now it looks like I'm searching for some wheels to buy... That or finding a used 261 wheel or getting this fixed... So far the shops that I've talked to about my friends wheels want to charge like 200 euros just to repair one if his. If I do that I'm almost half way for some VMR's.. Time to go drink a few beers(another like about Germany) and do some shopping.

yeah, that sucks dude....I remember in late 2011 when I had owned my 1M for only a month and I was driving into base early one morning. One of the center line plastic security dividers (ones they fill with water) was pushed into my lane and I realized it at the last second so to avoid it I had to drive further right and gouged up my front rim on the curb...something like 6-7 inches of damage....broke my heart right then and there...I was literally sick all day.
After curb rashing the right rear, I had both repaired by Ronnie in Einseidlerhof who charged me like 350 euros for both...they look good as new.

Yeah, it was so pissed I yelled f*** so loud a person walking by gave me a crazy look(Windows were up).. Mine is about half the length of what you have circled. I've been checking out some sites for the last hour looking to order a new set.

If you think the roads are bad here try the Hampton Roads area. I bent two wheels there, including the tires! 18" Potenza RE050s and 162s....you do the math.
I would have gladly traded those for some curb rash....so it could be worse.

True, but now it gives me a reason to talk the wife into approving new wheels. I don't know though, I'm still on the fence. Spend 560 for a JB4 or 850 for some wheels and throw the stock(still new) tires on them...

I don't think 17's will clear my brakes.... Plus, if anything I would stay with 18's or maybe go with 19's(not quite sure I like it yet).

Do you have pics of the damage? I had some serious gouging once on my wheels and got them fixed while I was in K-town. I would shop around if I was you. One place in Amberg was going to charge me almost 300 euros to fix just one rim and I said..........(Add expletive comment here)
Now I use the wheels as my track setup.

Yeah, I think I might go ahead and order the JB4 and shop around a bit to get this one fixed. If I can't find any reasonable price I'll go ahead and order a nice aftermarket set and use these for track days.

Leach - go to Google and do a search for.... "felgenreparatur doktor bamberg" you will find many shops that can repair your damage wheel(s).
Behind MediaMarkt(& KFC) there is a small body shop that does GREAT work(A&N SCHOLZ) . I've used them before. They don't speak much English but they are good people. Also across the street from MediaMarkt is another body shop "Lack Doktor" that probably could do the repair too. ATU also does wheel repairs too now. http://www.karosseriebau-scholz.de/ http://www.doktorlack.de/lps-oberfla...siegelung.html http://www.atu.de/pages/service/aluf...ktor%20bamberg

I'll be giving Ronnie a call this week. I had a bad experience with a piece of curb that was cracked and protruding in to the road, but a nice long scrape in my brand new custom painted VMR wheel...

Was never seriously thinking of selling the JB4. Just waiting for the N55 maps get some more development time.

And not to get in a pissing match over where the roads are worse but they aren't much better here in Spain. I'd rather go back to Germany for driving anyway. And at least the Germans care about their cars and can park very well in small spaces. These people just don't give a damn and will bump your shit all day long. I curbed my right rear wherl last week ever so slightly on a narrow ass 1 way road and I was sooooooo mad I could spit. Then I was thankful because it wasn't my alufelgen sf71s that I have on order right now. If it had been I might have crapped my pants while driving lol. Take a deep breath man and just be Vigilant. It will be ok |

I can't wait to get mine on my car. I still want a Cobb AP but with the added benefits of the JB4 I might just stick with it. I guess its depending on if any problems start once I put more miles on my car. I hope they come up with a Cobb for our 2013 soon. Not holding my breath, hence why I'm buying a JB4 to hold me over.
Bmwbreed, let me know what kind of difference the DP makes. Is your car stock otherwise, exhaust? I was thinking about ordering at least a drop in k&n the same time I drop the jb4 in.
