135i Cannonball Run

My buddy and I flew to Cali on Thursday to get my new car. Instead of trucking it back we decided to cross country it back to Cincinnati and make a trip of it. I have to say I love the 6spd, zero issues and no hiccups driving ~2400 miles ~32 hours straight! Thought people would enjoy our camo for the trip back :-)

I've done that before. Was super effective keeping all the bug guts off.

I bet that took a while to tape up! Seems like it would immediately turn me into an overconfident racecar driver if I did that.

Yeah we were like "racecar" and gunned it threw. I am shocked no cops pulled us over due to it, we passed like 50. Best part was just rolling by people, one person took pictures lol

That's pretty awesome, I did the same (solo) from Harrisburg, PA to Houston. It was a pretty fun trip.

we will be headed to Salem West Virginia from Florida and back next month. Great idea on masking the front for the trip. Where can i get the official BMW masking from?

I'm sure lol. For tape just goto lowes and get light adhesion 3m painters tape. Works perfectly and doesn't damage the clear on removal

Damn. I wish I had the same idea when i drove UT to CT, when I bought mine.

Although it would not saved me from getting rock chip on the winshield. That pissed me off. Windows chip real easily on these cars.

Yeah on my last one I had the window replaced 3 times in a year. The first replacement cracked after two weeks

I just ordered the BMW mask from getbmwparts.com. Got it in a about a week. Will be going on every road trip I take to protect from bugs rocks and tar

Did it a lot in my last car to protect the freshly detailed exterior while on the way to car shows. Good times.

Worked like a charm. I contemplated a #77, but decided the extra tape could come in handy and it did after a squall in Memphis undid most of my work. Wisconsin to Houston in two days of driving! No scratches.
