Charge Pipe Popping Off

Hi guys,

A buddy of mine has a VRSF charge pipe on his n55 motor and it keeps popping off. It is not popping off at the throttle body. The rubber elbow keeps popping off. He's very securely fastened the two t-clamps and I've even secured them myself and they're as tight as possible. Any ideas/suggestions to prevent the rubber section from popping off? It's a lot more common on the intercooler side than the throttle body side.

Thanks in advance

I recommend you ask him to send pictures of the install to VRSF so they can let him know what he is doing wrong

"as tight as possible" is it possible you/your friend may have crushed the pipe?

He has possibly overtightened the clamps and distorted the shape of the pipe. If that's the case, the rubber won't be getting full purchase.

Probably need to clean the area from oil contamination. Worst case use hair spray.
