CF Hood. To paint or not to pain?

So, I've always wanted a cf hood and had originally planned on buying something very aggressive like the Vorsteiner and getting it painted AW. This wasn't a priority, but it was a mod I wanted to do at some point.

Anyway, recently WSTO put their 3d design vented hood up for sale and I had to jump on it since it looks amazing and the price was great. Now, I really like the look of that hood and don't want to cover it up in paint, but I have been considering getting some tii stripes. I guess my question is do you guys think I should leave it as is or go for the stripes?

I've seen the hood in person, if you paint it don't paint it all, you got to show off that nice weave

Leave the stripes on the hood unpainted so you can see the CF, and paint the rest?

damn. thats a cool idea. Its like CF stripes!

I personally liked the idea of painting it all white because it shows more emphasis on the vents. And im not a big fan of boy racer cf on white look.
But the tii striped portion is neat, however. Will you paint the rest of the stripes the length of the car?

I would not paint it. Just put it on naked! Ever see a F40 all film'd up. Not a pretty sight.

But... maybe some pictures might help you make up your mind. The black 135i (at the BK coding event last Sunday) with the white hood - had its stripes off center. The more I looked at it the more it bothered me. This might be something to consider IF you do go the stripe route. The white e82 was a 123d was at Hochenheim. It was done much better/cleaner.

I find pictures are always better than words...

123d at ADAC Hochehiem race...

If I were to do it I would probably try and replicate the tii look with a black stripe on the roof and trunk. This can be done with cf vinyl on the roof and for the trunk I would buy a cf trunk and paint it all except for leaving a cf stripe. I like this since I think a cf trunk it way too ricey looking. I'd also pick up CF mirror caps and a cf diffuser.

Right now I don't have any real interest in painting it all white. I'm either going to leave it or go for the tii look. I had been planning on leaving it, but I've gotten it into my head that a stripe would look great.

For reference the tii concept...

This....and consider the iCarbon hoods -- I like'em beter than the Vorsteiner.

Waiting for mine and will paint it yet leave enough CF showing -- just waiting for it to be delivered along with trunk lid.

I've only heard good things about icarbon, but even if the fitment is good I'd rather have a vorsteiner or seibon hood. The icarbon hood is the ugliest one out IMO. It doesn't matter though as the 3D Design vented hood looks sweet and its on the way to my house as we speak.

Oh and I've decided....
NO STRIPES
Just leaving it as is.

OP, looking at your car, it's pretty modded (aka ur not stocklike by any means)..i'd leave it unpainted as its a nice CF not some hack job. If your car was very stock/subtle i'd maybe say paint.

I got the Vorsteiner hood & decided to paint it all one colour. I didn't want the "racer" look & wanted it to look as stock as possible, but that's just me. I wanted something to go with the Schnitzer spoiler & the quad exhaust. Pics attached.

Hood is on the car and I'm loving it as is. No plans on painting it anymore. I really need some cf mirrors now though.
