e82/e88 LCI xenon headlights - how do they work?
I really like the look of the e82/e88 headlights with the eyebrows, and I'm considering a retrofit on my hatchback. I've seen a few people retrofitted these on older models, but they've all tapped power from the angel eyes to light up the eyebrows.
How does these lights work from factory? Are they lid with the angel eyes? Can you turn them on/off from iDrive separately? Do they light up when unlocking? etc. Also, it seems like the eyebrows have white xenon-look light, while the angel eyes still uses standard halogen? |

Well I can't answer the question about how people are getting them to light who have retro fitted them but to answer you other questions,
They do light up when unlocking the car They are lit seperately from the angel eye. The angel eye still uses a halogen bulb and the eye brow uses a true led You can turn them off with the idrive menu but not seperately from the angel eyes. The option just says daytime running lamps on/off if you turn em off it turns off both the angel eyes and eye brow

Thank you very much.
In other words, there's no need for me to change the footwell module and all that, since they will work just about the same as connecting the eye brows to the angel eyes. |
