If you really want to do something helpful, it would be great if someone made a side skirt that connected a 1M front to a standard 135i rear. You'd make a killing. Just cut and blend the two sideskirts (1M front and 135i rear) together, make a mold, and sell a boatload. You only need the 1M front to run a square wheel setup and it would be massively cheaper than attempting to do the front and rear 1M change. You should really spend your time doing that vs. creating yet another thing that requires cutting/welding sheet metal. The first person to make these side skirts will make a KILLING. I can't believe it hasn't been done.

I have to agree with the side skirts. However why not just go with the ER wide body front? Personally i think the 1m front with a 135i rear would look award to me since the 1M front is more aggressive wile the 135i rear is more subtle. If you are going to go wide body I feel you should do all around and complete it with the aggressive 1m rear or keep the subtle look of the 135i with the ER wide body.

You should make front ones too. I think if you had a full set of rivet on fenders for a four corners- you would have a much better product than just the rear. The rivet on 'a would work on all 128i/135i bumpers and fenders too so the combinations would be awesome-
OEM 1M rear fender arches are not that expensive and most people who can afford the labor/materials/paint to do the rest of the car, will be able to afford the OEM. |

Another +1 to the above post. I would go OEM over fiberglass if I was doing body work. But I'm very interested in the bolt on style since I can do that myself and the cost should be much lower. I want widebody, but I don't really want a 1M clone.

LB kits are larger, cost more, and need to be fitted. LB costs around $6-8k per kit too. I don't know OP's margins etc. but I can image they wouldn't be cheaper than $2-3k for a decent quality four corner kit if he went LB style. Other style is around $1000-1500 for e36's |

Yeah, I just want to see more options out on the market for the 1 series. I may try my hand at making an LB-type kit some day, but the 1M conversion is so tempting.

I will be designing a full flare kit for all four corners similar to the Liberty Walk kits at quite a lower cost. These kits would be for the people who want widebody but don't want to look like a 1M. Because for the cost of these kits, the 1M widebody would be feasible.
For the OEM rear arches I'd be making, yes there is steel to cut out, and then the arches would be lined up to the side skirts and rear bumper and then molded in with with body fill. This is a lot more feasible and cheaper in labor alone than the OEM panels for most people and less than half the price of OEM panels. I can make simple bolt on flares down the road as they are the easiest. They might come before the full panel kits depending on how the design process goes. Can we start lists that people can add their names too. I want to see who is interested in what. OEM Replica Flares: 1. 2. 3. LibertyWalk Style kits: 1. 2. 3. Simple Bolt-On Flares: 1. 2. 3.
