The Terra leather is really sharp. I've had second thoughts about the beige that I ordered in my Mon Blue 325. Pick it up tom. Mon Blue and terra is going to look sweet!!

Hi Guys,
I'm getting ready to order the 330xi...and I was wondering if I would be able to order Comfort Access for it?? I see that CA will be ready for 9/05 production, but I wasn't quite sure if that includes xi production. Thanks! |

Delay with right hand drive models
Hi there, I wonder if anybody in Ireland or the UK has experienced long lead times for their orders also. I ordered a 320iSE Arctic on May 3rd and was given a (vague) production date of mid-August for mid-September delivery. I received a call from the dealer last week informing me of a delay in production until September and an October/November delivery date!. Does this seem excessive and can anybody give a definitive reason for this delay. The dealer quoted a backlog of RHD production schedules as the reason. BTW, there are very few E90's visible in Ireland currently.

Hi davedi.
I ordered a 330i SE in early June for a September delivery. However, I am buying my car through a German BMW dealership & having it imported into the UK. I will be receiving a tracking reference at 8 weeks before delivery, so I should be able to tell when the dealer will receive it, in the next couple of weeks. I asked a couple of UK dealerships about delivery times. It varied from sometime in September to November. I think each dealership has their own car quota. Maybe you should try shopping around. Viv |

But there is not such a thing as August production. AWD production starts in September. Did you get a good deal from a CT dealer? I had to go to a NY dealer to get a reasonable deal on my 330xi.

I finally ordered my 330i today for August ED. Jet Black/Black leather/Alum. trim/Manual transmission/ZSP/ZPP/Butt warmers/Satellite radio.
Here are some thoughts on my decision making process. I was thorough and I spent over two months making this decision, pouring over the boards, and test-driving 10 individual 3-series cars. I respect that other people have different preferences and I think it's great that we all get to choose what we want. I like the fact that I'll see other 3s different than mine on the road. *I would have gotten the Lemon leather if it was available in the US. *Personally, I'm not that hot on metallic paints although the Silver Ti was a close second choice to the black. *At first I thought I would get the burl walnut trim because it has a certain warmth and the aluminum can be a bit stark. However, my 13-year old son set me straight. For my taste the aluminum has a certain integrity--it just looks more like the material it is (if that makes sense.) I know it's real wood but car wood usually looks more like plastic than wood to me. Just my perception here. *The rational part of me said get an automatic because I have a long commute and also spend a lot of time on San Francisco hills and stop and go traffic. But after test-driving the manual the smile was too big and I just couldn't resist. *I have mixed feelings about the ZSP tires given their lower tread life, the inability to rotate them, greater replacement expense, and the fact that on some surfaces, such as freeway expansion joints and rain grooves, I did notice a rougher ride. The stock suspension handles pretty well but I appreciate the ZSP's extra performance. I had to have the sport seats and the 162's (Armen you were right!) and I thought of all the packages the ZSP offers the greatest value for dollar spent. *Finally, even though I ordered a 330, I think the 325 is the better deal. I simply decided to indulge myself. If the brain had been completely in charge I would have ordered a 325 with ZSP and little else. I would saved myself more than $8K and gotten 90+% of the 3-series virtues (great handling, great engine, great packaging, great balance). But I've been a pretty good boy the last couple of years so the brain gracefully stepped aside a bit more roll-on power, the 162s, and a few extra amenities. But I have to acknowledge that the base 325 with ZSP, a manual, and little else is the insightful choice. Incidentally, I test drove several other cars to compare: Acura TL, 2004 Audi A4 and S4, Infiniti G35, Mercedes E320, and the Saab 9-3. The only other car I was impressed with was the Audi S4. I loved the power on the S4 but it costs more, gets terrible gas mileage, and didn't handle as well as the 3. Most important of all I preferred the driving dynamics and overall feel of the 3-series. In my estimation, the 3-series is the best balanced car I drove and the true thoroughbred. Now the dreaded waiting begins. |

Thanks Vivekk.
I went for the dealer who had the earliest delivery date!. I wish I was able to order from Europe but we have this punitive tax called VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) which has to be paid regardless of where the car is purchased. So if I purchase in Germany, then the Revenue whack 30% approx onto the price paid in Germany. BTW, the list price in Ireland for a 320iSE with metallic is €44555. |

As to the deal. I had deposits in both Darien and Ridgefield, and ended up in Ridgefield. I didn't do as well as you did. Good luck. |
