Monaco Blue 135
Well the ordering process is underway and i have seen the Monaco Blue on other forums and was wondering if any one in Australia has got one. I just want to be sure of the colour as i can't find anything on the Australian forums. You all seem to have the other blues and was wondering why no one is Aust has gone for the Monaco Blue.

Hi Coz135 we (me and a mate) actually ordered two cars one Sedona and one Monaco Blue. About two months later the dealer rang to say Monaco Blue was not available for Australia and would he mind terribly if the order was changes to LeMans Blue to which he agreed. Unfortunately this oversight by the dealer may have been responsible for an additional 4 weeks delivery delay.

Welcome to 1addicts Coz135. I originally wanted Monaco as well but was told that this was n/a on 1ers. Le Mans Blue is very close, and I now prefer it to Monaco. Monaco is slightly duller in appearance, whereas Le Mans just gleams, especially in bright sunlight or under artificial light.

BTW the picture in your OP is not really representative of Monaco. It real life it is lighter than that. My dealer had a Monaco X3 on the yard and I put a sample Le Mans painted panel next to it. They were pretty close, Monaco slightly darker, and as mentioned, duller.

d3syd, are you sure you're not referring to montego blue being similar to Le Mans Blue? I thought Monaco blue was a lot darker

Its one of those colors that looks different in every type of light. It was really a pretty color on the 128i convertible at the dealer here. Like black you will be cleaning it all the time.

Monaco blue is a dark blue BMW offers. It does look black at night if it isn't under bright lighting conditions. It is classy yet still sporty if needed. I think the BMW picture is actually a bit brighter than the color itself. Either that or perhaps it is somewhat different for Aussie dealers.

Cheers for the feedback. I have the brochure at home and the Monaco Blue is still a option.... So when ordering comes i will have to get them double check. I saw a 335 in the monaco and it did look nice.
