wow 18psi....nice...that should yield a nice power bump.

Do they have plans for a stage 2? with mods?

Yep.

I'll be heading up as I get fmic, down and mid-pipes to see what boost/ignition curve we can get away with.

Any luck in getting the car fixed? If so-what did the dealer do to fix the problem?

New charge-pipe and it feels right again finally!

I'm running the Stage 1 beta on 2 gallons e85/3 gallons 93 pump mix and it feels MUCH better than before. I laid rubber in 2nd on a straight concrete highway entry ramp going about 40mph. It also helps that it has dropped to 59°F in Corpus tonight.

This feels mid 12s 1/4 for sure, assuming perfect launch and shifts!

I'm gonna bust out the dyno tomorrow and also do some testing with the JB4 and DCI.

Great.

So is Cobb finished with your car or will you be going back for one more session so they can finish their tune?

Thanks.

My car is actually over at COBB Austin so they can finish the AP tuning for the 1M. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon and I'll see what the verdict is.

I really don't have anything to report yet, as I haven't driven the tuned version. I dropped the car off on Monday so they could continue working from where they left off on Fundahl's car. I had the car yesterday (the dyno was being used for some Subaru tuning), but it was set on the stock tune. It's back over there today for what will hopefully be some final testing and tuning. Very impressive facility and competent staff, so I'm sure the 1M AP will be well worth the wait. And don't ask me about availability or other details, as I'm sure that will be coming from COBB at the appropriate time!

The new AccessPort tune is installed on the car and it is quite an improvement. The 1M now seems even more eager to accelerate and feels like there is much more low end power. Not quite like the feel of the M button, but rather a sense of as much power as you need across the RPM range. The map that is installed is the more linear one. There is another one on the AP that is more abrupt and a little harder to modulate. There is also a simulated stock tune (or the AP can be unistalled in about 10 minutes).

When the local COBB guys get back from a business trip, I'm going to see if I can get my hands on the before and after dyno results. I think they said the torque improvement was in the neighborhood of 50 lb ft at the wheels and the HP improvement was in the range of 15 or 20 WHP. I'll get some more accurate data soon, but I do know the torque increase was quite a bit higher than the net horsepower change. Driveability is great so far.

COBB is working on the maps for the 1M and the details will be released as soon as they're available. In the meantime, if you guys have any questions about the flash in general, feel free to drop me a PM and I'd be more than happy to help out!

Ooh I like the idea of a more linear map. I'd much prefer for the power to continue to build up to redline. I do secretly miss the way the NA M engines made power. Sounds like the linear map may do a better job of that. Regardless more power is always fun

Nothing new from me, except to report that my mileage has dropped by 1-2 mpg. Can't keep my foot our of the throttle! The car is always willing to go.

I did order an Eisenmann rear exhaust that should be in around the end of December. I want to see what difference this makes and how well the AP adapts to the increased flow.

Don't get too excited about gains from adding a rear muffler. The OEM muffler is pretty hollow as it is. Most gains will be noticed when both the rear section and mid pipes are changed.

I wonder if it'd be possible to write an M button "handle" into the ECU... so that when you turn on the M button the ECU switches maps...

I suppose anything is possible, with some of the old (I think it was GIAC?) flashes you could switch maps with the stalks. Using the M button to switch maps would be very cool.
