1M premium audio just OK?

I'm curious to hear others' opinions... IMO, the 1M's premium audio is disappointing. The tone is a bit muffled and lacks dynamic range.

Initially I thought the same. I played with all the setting but I still couldn't get it right. It concerned me that the quality of the sound system wasn't up to parr.

Before the 1M I had a 335 with Logic 7. That was awesome. I was alway trying to compare it to that.

Anyhow at my 1200 service I asked the service tech to see if there was something wrong. Well after 2 trips back to the dealer they found installation problems with the amp and some acoustic channeling. Easy fix apparently.

Since then I have been extremely impressed with the HK system. Im no expert but to me It is comparable to the Logic 7 sound.

I hope you get yours addressed.

That's great news. The stereo in my e60 with logic 7 is damned good. If the HK compares I will be very pleased.

Compared to my 09 335i with the "professional" stereo system (basically a watered down version of the HK system) - the HK system in my 1M sounds MUCH better. Definitely worth the $$.

I think the Harmon kardon system is spot on coming from my dd 335 with the " pro system" it's a massive upgrade no distortion I do hear some vibration in the rear which I will bring up during my 1200 mile service other than that I love the system and the car

What I can say in comparison is that the Honda Civic's 350 Watt system is head and shoulders better than the comparably powered 300 watt HK system on the 1M :-(

I own both, and there is not much of a comparison.

The bass is clean at all volumes (the volume goes much higher than I will ever use!), and the mid-tones and treble are super clear.

I think it sounds great. I'm not a huge audiophile but have been very pleased with h/k.

I owned a 2008 vw r32 wich had a deffening sound system without subs , i loved it and i also adore the HK in the 1M ..... To me its perfect for the car..... The subs are much more powerfull than many tend to think and i often listen to bass biased music and i cant seem to get them to fart with a good setup.
