European Delivery of 135i

Picked up my 135i on 17.10.2009 at BMWWelt and drove it 2008 miles in two weeks: Vienna, Salzburg, Göttingen, Hannover, Berlin, Leipzig, Nürnberg and back to Munich to Harms for shipment back to the States. Great trip and AMAZING car! Got home to my faithful 1996 VW Passat and ...well... miss the 135 a lot! The BMW Munich factory tour, BMWWelt tour and the BMW Museum tour are very impressive. I just can't begin to describe the experience, nor can I believe that the three weeks of vacation in Germany and Austria are over so soon! The weather was cold so I got the snowtires and am glad I did: black ice on roads in Austria and that was a low elevations, relatively speaking. I skipped Passo di Stelvio, of course, since there was already half a meter of snow in the Alps. All I can say, is that the entire preparation and planning for nearly two years was worth the effort and something I highly recommend.

Yes, that is a beemer motorcycle jacket I also picked up since I ride a K1200RS also! Here's a shot of the car and me from a week ago in Goettingen (south of Hannover - university town)

Congratulations! It is THE best way to buy a BMW, hands-down.

Now you'll just have to prepare yourself for the long re-delivery wait. That is the toughest part.

Hah that's funny. We both had euro delivery on the same day. Mine was at 2:20 PM. 718 miles in 2.5 days and Stelvio Pass definitely had some snow on one half of it that weekend (glad I got the snow tires too). Wouldn't want to thread Jack with some of my photos...but congrats!!

Hah, that is funny we were both there are the same time. I spent six nights in Munich prior to getting the car. My delivery was at 9:00 AM, so I got the winter tires and headed to revisit old familiar places...that had changed a lot since I last saw them. I was also glad to have the tires due to black ice in Austria on several stretches of road. I did 2008 miles in two weeks (3 nights Vienna, 2 Salzburg, 1 Göttingen & 4 Hannover (friends), 2 Berlin, 1 Nürnberg, 1 Munich). Guess I'll have to hit Stelvio for a motorcycle trip sometime!

I'd love to see your pics from your trip over Stelvio.
