I called my dealer and he said that they took the scheduled build for the coupe and will modify it to make my convertible. I understand that flexible scheduling and production lines make it possible, but I asked for a copy of the build sheet nevertheless.
Yup, it's always good to have a copy of the build sheet to put your mind at ease. Since your dealer took another production slot, you should hopefully get your car sooner. As far as the details on the website tracking page, mine were never 100% accurate even right up to delivery. They eventually got the interior/exterior color and major packages correct, but all the smaller options never appeared, so don't sweat it if it does the same for you.

Awesome photos. Are those double exposures? I like the black and white background, really sets off the car! Have to try that.

You must be a professional photographer. These are awesome photos.

My 135i is still showing as "on order" and hope the build starts soon, otherwise it is going to throw a wrench into my holiday plans.

Order Update

My 135i Le Mans Blue droptop is still showing as "on order" on the BMW website, and as a Space Grey coupe. So, I wrote to my sales rep and he checked on it. The car was already built and is waiting for the next ship to the U.S.. The website is useless. I also found some links to old models while navigating. They seriously need to evaluate their marketing department. I believe their website is the main tool that buyers use, and not only are there outdated areas, but the services provided don't work! Egad.

Thank goodness the engineers and production personnel are up to speed. The car was built within two weeks of the order, and for me, that is very impressive.

Winter Tires

I don't plan to drive my car much in winter, but I am looking for winter rims and snow tires. The MODA rims I want are sold out for the season on Tire Rack, and I am having a hell of a time finding them elsewhere. It's hard to believe they would be sold out at the beginning of the season.

Great thread.

I am about to be the proud owner of a 2011 Lemans Blue/Grey interior 135--turning in my 2008 for a new one.

What a great color--but I haven't seen too many good pics of the Grey interior--anyone have some good shots?

Welcome to all.

I just picked mine up at Jake Sweeney on Saturday. I was done in 2 hours. A true lay down. I like it. It's my 6th BMW.

Sigh. My 135i is still languishing. It finished production at the end of November, and it has been in transit since then! ....six weeks and counting...

I think 6-8 weeks is typical--that was the range for the three cars I have had built...doesn't make the waiting any easier.

My new 135 was the first car I have bought off the lot in quite a while...normally dealers seem to go skimpy on the performance/M options and more to the convenience factor (such as upgraded stereo and Navi)...which I don't care about as much...got lucky for once!

Once it gets here, you will be glad you got what you wanted. And it will all be worth it, trust me.

Yes, I have a loaded 135 "M" package coming in Le Mans blue - it had to be ordered. I know it will be worth the wait as I have owned other BMWs, but I have worked in this area of logistics and saved my last company millions in costs. I am aware of a recent multi-million R&D project that saved GM and some other participants millions in exactly this area, and wonder why a high-technology company like BMW would not have a better delivery system? It doesn't make sense.

I work overseas and will be leaving next week. They had a five-week window they couldn't hit! Yikes. I really don't want to take delivery on a car I have never seen.

Yes, I am disappointed that I don't have it, but also in BMW for not meeting the target week for delivery by two weeks at this point.... and maybe more.

I just picked mine up, just over 500 miles, and the grey is awesome. Yours is a post sept build I believe and should be split with grey seats and clack "plastic" bolsters etc... The sides are grey and mine has the aluminum trim which I believe is the standard for the grey interior.... now why not just post a pix etc... My camera just went dead and not a battery in the house. I'll try later and get them up. I certiantly love it!

Yes sir, you are correct. I definitely have the split--and I too really like it...had the car almost 5 weeks now and I am still loving it...

I have been lazy and haven't posted any good pics, but will do soon.

I still don't have mine. It finished production at the end of November. Sigh. They shipped it to the wrong port. BMW logistics needs an overhaul.
