Wanted: Bald 17" Run Flats 205/50 and 225/45 (Ontario)
When I first got the car, I sold my OEMs and replaced them with regular tires. Now that there's 1 years left in my lease, I have to start looking for some bald OEMs because according to several sources, I have to have runflats on my car when I return the lease; even though I bought the wear&tear warranty from BMW Finance. The tires can be totally bald because of the warranty. BUT they have to be RFTs.
If any of you are replacing your bald run flats, please let me know. I want your old tires. Very much appreciated. I'll pick up anywhere in Toronto area. The OEM front tires were 205/50R17 and the rears were 225/45R17. The tires must be same brand, and must be same speed rating as the original tires. (I made a similar post half or so year ago, but there was little feedback. And at the end someone responded, but I totally missed it until half a year later. Sorry!)

1. in Sep and Oct many people will be changing their tires for winters at BMW dealers. Possibility you can pick up something used. Ask a SA to keep an eye out.
2. some BMW dealers sell winter tires and rims on 1 special day in Sep. Ask dealer if they do and what day (usually a Saturday). Can your car be returned with winter RFTs? 3. In Apr and May, people will be dumping their winters. |

Hey, I'm going to be selling my tires in like a couple of months, if you can wait for it then that would be sweet because I do not know what the market is for these tires. I got the OEM 205/55/17 runflats right now.

If there r still treads on those tires, u may want to sell it elsewhere. I'm practically looking for junks. I'm willing to pay only around $50 to $70 for the trouble of a fellow 1'er who wanna help out. But yea, if that's okay to u, and if they fit my oem 17" rims, I'll probably be interested if I haven't found a set by then. My oem tires are different sizes though. See my first post.

Yea my tires still have alot of tread on it tbh, but I really don't care who to sell it to or how much as long as I'm getting something back. Iunno what the dimension of ur rims are so, not sure if it will fit. Mine are just the oem 128I tires and rims.

The service guy said no. It's probably some liability thing...

Nothing yet. There are actually plenty of 225s out there. It's the 205s that are tough to find. At least, that's according to my tire guy.

Bump. I just called BMW finance, and they said the tires must be original sizes. So, no go for 225s on all four corners.

Careful! Last lease return I had was a Mazda but the lease-end inspection was insanely meticulous. The tires were required to have at least 3.5mm of tread depth and mine were just below that so they tried to ding me for 4 new tires. The guy's depth gauge was broken and taped back together, so I complained and managed to get the charge reversed, but it wasn't easy.
