Could the hanger be the cause of the crooked tailpipes? Right side hangs lower then left. (no bag jokes)

the diamond shaped hangers are the OEM part for cars made in 2011 I believe. The center is 'split' so don't worry. The revised OEM part (with the same part number) is grey and pear shaped. I'm guessing cars that were built more recently have the newer revised part.
I know this because I bought new OEM hangers for my 1M to resolve clearance issues between my akra and vorsteiner diffuser.

you can buy the e92M3 hangers which is exactly the same as the 1M but in red color and different part number but its same thing. i just replaced all 3 with m3 as 1m is sold out worldwide. ˆiiiin[/I][/I][/U][/B]

they might have revised due to crack. all 3 of mine broke down in the middle. so i replaced with the m3 that works perfect on the car and its RED.

I don't suppose you could confirm the M3 part number? RealOEM says 18207544809 for what looks like a set of four.

IIRC using 135i hangers rectifies this issue.

Yep, looks good to me Akra evo system, inner tailpipes stick further out a touch more than the outer tailpipes.

Any idea if the M3 hanger is stiffer compared to the stock 1M? My Remus axleback seems to have a bit more mobility/laxity than I think it should.

Not sure, but they are pretty stiff, under the red plastic coating, they are metal.. just the centre middle bit where the holes are, flex.

This is something else to consider:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...7&postcount=51

The above post is from a guy who had issues with an Akra axleback riding too high, making contact with the diffuser.
Akra shipped him different BMW OEM hangers (18207578238) which is used for the 128i. This apparently fixed the alignment issues.

The stock 1M hanger is 18207798560. And the M3 hanger Tinsta referenced above is 18207544809.
