Strange burning smell since service

Hi guys,

I had my 25,000km service a few weeks back, and ever since the car has emitted a burning smell. It's not the clutch, and it's not oil, but I've got no idea what it is. I can smell it whether I've been driving for 2 minutes or 20 minutes. I can only smell it when the sunroof is open or in 'tilt' position, and therefore creates a vaccuum, sucking air into the cabin via the air vents.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I'm taking it in to the dealer (again) next week so hopefully this time they can figure out what it is.

Would that be the smell from brake drum... which the service guys adjusted the brake too tight? I am just guessing.

Used to happen to me every now and then when the subaru idiots would spill oil + other substances on my exhaust pipes...when the pipes got hot the substance would vapourise and create that smel.. Went away after a few days

you didn't drive off with the mechanic still under the car did you, or maybe they have left something in the engine bay,

I thought it was oil initially, however it's stuck around for 3 weeks and I drive every day. No, there's no mechanic stuck in the car, but thanks for your concern

Brake drum - no idea.

Is this 25,000km your first inspection or service? Also, is your car an 08 or 09?

First dealer service (changed the oil and filter myself after about 7,500kms). It's an 08. Picked it up in July last year. One of the first
