Question about Navigation
ok I did do a search but could not find anything related. so here is my question:
Today I go out with a co-worker of mine in his new Acura TL, so I started playing with his Navigation. So lets say you want to list all the restaurants close to where you are, you can do that on the BMW and the same can be done on the Acura. The BMW will list all the restaurants sorted by milage, but on Acura I can sort it by name and by milage. I can also enter the name of the restaurant and search. Can I do a search for a particular restaurant using the BMW Nav? Now that I think about it even Hertz Never lost system has this feature. Any pointers will be helpful. Thanks in advance. |

ive had this same problem, i dont see why they wont sort them by name, as it seems to be the most intuitive method. i believe this to be the biggest shortcoming of that aspect of the nav.

Agreed....you should be able to search by name. Searching by distance is not that helpful....because most of the time we know the name of the place (bar, club, restaurant, etc)...but not exactly where it is. Only rarely, do I think, ok what is near...and settle with the closest. I have to scroll through the whole thing....blah!
Please fix!!!!!

hmmm ... is this feature global ie: the ability to display names of places that are nearby. Can anyone from Australia (with Nav Pro) tell us if they have place names like restaurants porgrammed in the Nav system ?
