Catless down pipe sel fix

Just purchased a vsrf down pipe and want to prevent the SEL from coming on. What are some things I can do? The seller sent me the vsrf sel light fix, but not sure how to install it or if it will work on the n55. I've also seen that you can use the o2 spacers, but not sure which is proper to use.

I run MHD and pass state inspection with no issues.

i need to do this as well since inspection iscoming up soon and JB4 doesnt code it out.

Is the fix better then getting the MHD tune on top of the JB4?

Can you tell us more on how this works with MHD? Did you have to install DP fix?

I don't have the specific details of the software, but it's a standard flash that anyone can purchase. I do not have a DP fix installed on my car or any O2 simulator.

Sometimes a mini cat can prevent the SEL/CEL from coming on, but sometimes you may get an O2 delay response code.

Here is the 90 degree version, but you may need a 45 degree depending on the clearance you have.

Hey thank you for the n55 MHD info. With stage 2+ I was able to drive to work on low throttle for 15 miles and took it it in for evaluation and passed. No wired module needed! Thanks again!!

Correct I am in AZ, AZ allows for 1 module to be incomplete (not ready). The stage 2+ MHD tune places the cat as unavailable. In a sense it hides it. Basically, you after you install the tune (selecting cat less DP on the tune) it then hides that information and which doesn't alert the CEL.

After 1 drive cycle the vehicle is ready for evaluation. Keep in mind that the drive cycle must include a cold start in order to evaluate the O2 sensor heater.

With MHD when you check codes you can see all parameters of the emissions readiness systems. This helps so you know when you are ready for evaluation.

Same as everyone else, using MHD to ghost the O2 sensor code works perfect and passes NYS inspection with one monitor not set.

As long as all other monitors are set you'll be fine.

I’m in NJ, all readiness and sensors must be green (OK) to pass. If you are catless the ghosting will not help. Any SES light on dash will also fail you.

I took my car through DMV test this past spring and noticed there’s a camera looking at the underside of the car and the inspection tech has a monitor to look at as he drives over the cam. I’m sure they’re looking for cats but I wonder, given the location of an N55 cat, if they’d be able to see if a DP was installed. I still had my factory cat so I wasn’t worried but it makes me think twice about going catless.

On the N55 the cat is definitely visible with the shields on if you know what to look for.

I did the oil pan gasket this weekend and was tempted to do the DP (been sitting on my shelf for 3 yr) since I had easy access. In the end, I didn't because it's just one less thing to worry about.

BTW, I would never do the oil pan gasket again. I'll pay next time.

I run MHD and have had no problems with my car passing state. Although you could get some resistors to fake the o2 sensor.
