Will Phantom Footprints work instead of Lojack?

My dealer advised me to take phantom footprints instead of low jack and he charged me $250. Does anyone know about those prints and also is it better than lojack?

Thanks
Kart

BMW Assist works similar like lojack... plus it's integrated into the car, and you can use it for other things (and the subscription is included for the first 4 years).

Doesn't that require the car to be turned on though? I thought I remember reading that BMW's version isn't as good as Lojack

It's active when the car turned off too. Think of the scenario when you lock the key in the car, and you call them on your mobile to have them unlock it for you. Your car doesn't need to be running (or the key inserted) for them to unlock it. (lojack can't do that either)

They can find it's global position at any time.

Ok thanks for clearing that up. I'm was wondering if it'd be worth it to upgrade to lojack but it sounds like BMW's version will be fine.

More money for parts:roundel:

However, one quick question, if they unplug the battery does BMW Assist still track the car? I know lojack has a backup battery and I'd hope BMW has the same.

I do not think so. So, if it's in a chop shop, it's gone. I'm kind of thinking that if mine gets stolen for any extended period, I don't think that want it back though. Let me order another unmolested one (or at least only a self molested one  )

LOL

Thanks for the information Larry, now I really can't decide if Lojack is worth it or not. Oh well, Christmas isn't THAT far away

Aey guys what I heard is BMW assist doesn't work if battery is disconnected and also lojack or phantom prints offer some amount of insurance to ur car I think lojack gives $2500 to you and $2500 to the dealer if you want to buy another car. Like someone already pointed out Lojack has their own source of power and is hidden inside the vehicle. However I think Lojack is f**king expensive and I hope the guy who steals my car

I am thinking of canceling phantom footprints. Does anyone think its not a good decision? Also does anyone know how much % insurance discount we can get in Texas if we have phantom footprints?

Thanks
