That is a very expensive oil change...
Has everyone paid for the body/interior/wheels sealant package, like the Diamond Bright or Scotchgard etc. Its added on my invoice at the mo for a rather healthy £500 inc VAT. The saleschap was confident of its absolute necessity. Is it? |

Haven't paid it, will take out the service inclusive for £400.00 instead.
Haven't seen the paperwork yet and will be interested to see the breakdown of costs. Shost - no you don't need any additonal protection. This is one of the most lucrative add-ons in the sale, (it costs the dealer about £60.00). The best solution IMHO is to have your professionally detailed as soon as possible after delivery, this will cost approx £250.00 and will be worth every penny. |

waste of money mate, go on to ebay and check out how much you can pick up diamond bright for, I recommend you find yourself a good detailer and pay a couple of hundred less for paint correction and a good protection and you do the top ups every so many months, my misses asked the dealer if she could get in our friend who is well know in the detailing circle to do the pre delivery clean but they where not having none of that so I will get it to him not long after the car arrives. |

I've just picked her up. I'm over the moon - the two things I was still slightly concerned about - the colour and the privacy glass - I absolutely love. Heve literally only driven the few miles home and am now sat down to read the manual and watch Fifth Gear ;-)
Obviously everyone is right though - even just in those few miles I can feel the car is much more direct, much more connected, than my 135i ever felt - and I loved that, so I'm really going to love this :-D

No long trips planned in the next few days. I am however going down to Wales fairly soon, so that's a 600 mile round trip, added to a couple of trips to the office first, and I'll be pretty much at 1200 miles!

Hi all,
My first post here as I'm trying to get a bit of information on the availability in the UK for the 1M? Can you still order them or have they all been sold? I'm in the process of trying to sell my current car (Lotus Exige S 260) as my wife is pregnant and I could do with something slightly more practical The 1M is the only car out on the market at the moment that floats my boat. A friend of mine has a 135i which I've driven a few times and I love, plus my father has a BMW M3 E92 Competition which again is great. Anyway, I'd be interested to hear if there is anything left out there. I've already spec'd the car up, but I don't want to sell my car if I can't get hold of a 1M with the spec I'd like. Cheers, Chris. |

Well the order has been placed with my local dealer, so it's just a case of waiting now for the confirmation of a build slot.
My dealer seemed hopeful that he'd be able to order me one. In his words "I'm 90% sure that I can get you one". We'll see |

Sorry for yet another post, but just had a call from the dealer and it's looking very positive. Although they cannot 100% confirm a build slot until the start of July due to some minor changes to the 1 Series model line that could have an impact on my order?!

Japan Tsunami Silicon Chip shortages perhaps?
I've heard that the worst problems are just starting to filter through, now that all the pre-existing stock has been sucked out of the supply chain. |

I'm getting paint protection coating (3 layers) followed by two coats of wax polish through somebody i know (and trust) as they have done work on my previous cars. - around £185 if i recall correctly; South East area. The dealer products are just a sales tactic and the sales exec. will obviously make commission on selling it you! |
