Does anybody experienced hood unlock

Does any of you experienced hood unlock while driving. I had it already 3 times I'm lucky that my speed was low enough. How can I fix that it's quite scary.

Never. Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in order. Even if it unlocks at speed, I would hope that the safety catch will still be functional.

Did you have body work done to it?

Nope no body work. Safety catch saved me I just wonder if speed would be 100 mph what would happen then?

If the catch failed, either you will be driving blind with the hood blocking your view or you will be looking thru a cracked windshield and the hood ripped off the hinges

Either way, you do not want to find out for yourself.

I have to agree with you but how can I fix that, it closes just fine... But like I said few times it's just poped up.

Yes, this is a safety issue - take it into the dealer and get it fixed. Maybe part of the latch is broken or never installed at the factory.

They don't have to believe you in any ways. They will ask themselves why would you lies about a safety issue.

Take a picture of how open your hood was if it happens again. Show it to the dealer if needed.

I literally just had the dealer fix this same issue for me. The hood on mine is damn near impossible to close sometimes. I can't just drop it and slam the hood down like on every other car I've ever owned. I have to push it down on the emblem and hold it to get it to engage the lock. Then when I was driving to the dealer to have them fix my squeeking brakes (again) the hood popped open on the freeway.
I informed the dealer I wasn't thrilled about the hood latch issue and they looked into it. Per the maintenance paperwork it says they oiled the latching mechanism. Not sure how that will help but it hasn't had any issues since.

Oh sh... same story with closing my hood. Sometimes I also have to hold till it locks. Though I'm happy that they can easily fix that.
Thanks for sharing this info

I've never had it happened to me, but it happened to my friend's E90 a few weeks ago. He was going about 130 when it started vibrating!!! Scary stuff.

Mine does exactly this. Thanks for the info, I'll try some proper oil (only tried wd40 so far)

Garage List
Per the manual, the hood should close securely by simply dropping it from a few inches up. If yours doesn't do this, or if you have to press down at all to get the hood to secure, it is not functioning properly. I would take it in to the dealer ASAP.
