And the update. Car settled fine but the front left side seemed to dip a quater inch lower than the right. After a couple hours of jacking the car up and down to test fitment, I think it's finally done - at least it's even. Might drop the rear a bit more as there's room to play, but I'm very happy and comfortable with the way it sits. Dampening is on the soft side, and the car rides much better as a daily driver.
I've never done any mod this drastic before. The difference is simply day and night. Adjusted some levels and curves in photoshop to get the black wheels to stand out. Last edited by Dafttt; 07-09-2013 at 04:44 PM.. |

Check your regional forums, that's where I got everything. Thanks, LONG time coming. Been such a rush adapting to the change, the suspension was mostly done all at once. *Let me just throttle out of this hairpi..omgimoversteering* Also, love your build man. Agreed! Great transition on white or bright/solid colored cars. Bought the front bumper here for a hundred bucks - still have trouble coming to terms with that as I type it out. Perfect condition ..literally perfect, off a car with 6k miles. Simply the deal of my lifetime, legitimate buyer and transaction too. Side skirts and trunk lip were $150. Slightly more used at ~30k miles, and it somewhat shows. Could not find a reasonably priced or non-damaged rear bumper for a very, very long time. Bit the bullet, at somewhere around $600 shipped from Dan@United. Paint was around $350, I think. Yeah, ..I know, yiike! Got to the point where I just wanted to finish the look, and the rear was the one part I wanted the whole time. (..dat ass) |

Think that's my favorite 128i, such a clean looking car and a nice selection of mods!

Nice
I like how the front brakes add a bit of accent inside the black wheels. I prefer m sport sides to perf ones.

Unfortunately the black wheels wont last. When the current tires run out, I want to switch to something entirely new and square ..and dark bronze/titanium color. Probably going to change the color of the brakes as a result. I actually really like the 'phoenix yellow-like' color, but I have my heart set on painting them BMW roundel blue (which looks great on performance F-series gen cars IMO). Also, my rears are stock single pistons, and gloss black. It would be hard to copy the flake effect that the fronts have, so I'm trying to stick to solid colors. I think that blue will contrast great against a dark bronze wheel, we'll see! Almost there! I think a couple more (minor) things are in order. Might install a spoiler like yours! |

G'luck, the rear brings a lot of presence to the car! I really do like the standard bumpers, but I always thought the rear was a bit bland, especially in my alpine white. Cheers man, much appreciated! |

I got mine from Dan at United BMW (check commercial section) a few years back, shipped, painted ready to go on the car. Unfortunately they no longer offer painting.

Nice ride! Awesome brakes, stance and wheels!
Have you noticed any sound difference from the K&N filter replacement compared to the stock filter?

I personally like K&N, had good results with them in the past. It's a more appetizing growl but there's barely an increase in sound. |
