Heater issues
Hello everyone,
i have a 08, 128i and my car blows warm air, but not hot (set at max heat). even after driving for 30 min, still warm and it takes about 10 minutes of street driving to reach warm air level. in addition, when cruising at freeway speeds, when its about 45F outside, the warm air slowly gets colder, its only when i downshift or play around with the gas pedal for few seconds is when i get to the warm level, but never hot....any ideas what going on? Someone told me it can be a waterpump "about to go bad" issue. I have 112k on the car, and no record of water pump change. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. |

Ive had my 128 for 2 years now, and I must admit, the heat in this thing has been the weakest of any car i have owned. Why does it blow harder on defrost, than any other setting?? I think it takes forEVER to get hot. I'll put it at max (84 degrees (why so low??)) and the thing will occasionally slow to a lower fan setting for a few seconds and then revert back, have no clue why it does this.

interestingly enough I was talking to a BMW enthusiast today about this issue, and he suggested that it can be a stuck open thermostat....which makes sense, except that wouldn't it through a code for that? Anyone know?
